About Us
StreetRacing.org was started by Ryan Smith in 1998 and was originally based in the San Francisco Bay Area, more specifically in San Jose and the South Bay. StreetRacing.org grew quickly since the street racing scene is very alive in this area and since Ryan is quite active in the scene. Early on, Ryan would personally take pictures of everyone's cars and take videos of local street races on Friday and Saturday nights, and post them on this website.

As Streetracing.org started growing, Ryan began adding more and more features to the site. He compiled a wheel fitment guide, a size guide for automotive light bulbs, install articles for basic aftermarket parts installations, and a shop index with reviews of local speed and performance shops. He added a forum board for members to interact. Ryan also created a t-shirt for members that will forever be popular and that sports what is still the organization's slogan: Drag Racing is not a crime.

Ryan also had a team of people with him going to car shows and events throughout the state and documenting them, and they would publish their event coverage so that members could get immediate news and hear about the latest updates and trends in the industry.

Very quickly, the organization became 50,000 members strong and kept growing.

Over time, the Ryan expanded the site to have a national presence, expanding way beyond California and out to all 50 states. While Streetracing.org is an organization based in the United States, it even has a large member base abroad and is a world-wide organization.

Technically, Streetracing.org has split its news coverage division into a sister website called Street Racing Online Magazine (www.sromagazine.com), but links to all the news coverage on that site are still right here at Streetracing.org. All editorial types of coverage are now posted there, as a resource to Streetracing.org members and the rest of the world. Streetracing.org itself remains host to the largest online community of street racers in the world.

Simply put, this site is dedicated to all the street racers, drifters, auto crossers, road racers, and drag racers out there.

Streetracing.org is part of the Authority Auto Network.
