Never thought I'd see those two get cross shopped. The only thing they have in common is they both have 6+ liter V8 that gets really shitty mileage.
The Charger is kinda cool but the inside is kinda cheap. AWD or not, an Escalade won't win any races, but it is a much more luxurious ride and can carry more people and/or cargo. And it's still quite the icon. If you've got the $60+ grand for a new one, why not wait another couple months and get the Escalade hybrid so you can enjoy averaging 20mpg instead of the 12-15 I typically see them get. And there's a platinum edition coming soon too, but look at spending $80k for that one.

A friend of mine just purchased a Charger SRT-8, Hemi. He's had it about a month now and the last time I saw him I asked him how he liked it...some back ground...he was on the fence about getting one for the longest time. I would kid him, tell him to go for it so that we could stage them up, see what happens..(although he had been for a ride in my car and I think we both knew that what I had...raw power and what he would have...refined and computed...and it would be quite different. Anyway, he finally made the deal...nice looking car (although they really look heavy..kinda like an Escalade). As far as performance...highway he said it seems fine or okay but with the computer switching from 4 to 6 to 8 cylinders or whatever the heck it's suppose to do...Junk.
Also mentioned the poor quality of the way things are put together..happen to mention the eyeglass holder on the visor or something that was a poor design and detined to fail in no time because of how it work or snaps or something. Also keeps hearing sqeaks when he closes the door and it turns out the rear quarters are plastic about half way down...Was sad to see that my friend had regrets after having been charged for so long. Think he is going to sell it and move to germany for a couple years.

Go with the charger man. It is a lot easier to fix up for car shows, and (or) racing material.
