I've done the same thing before. The yellow streetlights in San Jose screw up color perception. Even the green cite should still have the court date on it. Plus, you'll get all the information you need in the mail from the DMV.

Officer Hoyt, thanks for responding. I was wondering if there was anyway i could get away from this. I mean it is the officers copy, and on the back it says the radar gun #, when it was calibrated, etc. So I mean what can I do....And by the way...I never knew that you would be helping out us racers by giving us tips...you are alright Sir...So let me know please.

No tips, just information. If you're informed of the risks, maybe you won't race. If you're informed of the consequences, you lose your right to plead "But I didn't know!" in court.
Nah, sorry, probably no way to get out of it just because you got the wrong copy. You were served with an appropriate notice to appear in court and that's the requirement. Whether the copy is marked "Officer Copy" or "Driver Copy" or anything else is simply a matter of departmental procedure. The biggest thing that will come of this is a headache by some poor records person stuck in the basement of the police department.
