Are blue light bulbs street legal on signal lights?
if not, how much do you think it costs for a fix-it-ticket in California?
what other colors are legal?

another of my questions is how fast can my blinker be without getting a ticket?

thanks

are you talking about straight out blue bulbs that look really blue or are you talking about the blue tinted super white bulbs? and what car is this for depending on what kind of bulb it is it gives off a different color. As for the fixing ticket it's only 10 bucks, go to chp to have the ticket written off cause other police branches like lapd or sheriffs charge ten bucks to check off the ticket. As for the if the bulbs are legal, if they are blue they are definitely illegal and if they are super white then they are "technically" legal but cops might still hassle you

I think as long as your turn signal emits amber light then it's legal. some pupus will bitch about clear corner with amber bulb though.

Fix ticket is $10 as long as the ticket is fixable. Bitchy Pupu usually will check the "not fixable" box.

My signal is separate from my corner light. I've had a blue bulb in the corner light since last summer, never got shit yet for 'em.

Only clear and amber can show to the front. The stock HID lights from the luxury brands look blue, but are considered white I guess.

To the rear, you can have yellow, clear and red. However, the CVC says where and how those can be set up. For instance, your stop lamps and tail lamps have to be red.

No blue allowed front or back.

SJPOPO-

I would like to thank you for clearing this, and many other posts for all of us. You are one cool cop, 4realz :D.

I live in Sacramento, and I always speed, run stop signs, bump in residential neighborhoods, and got my blue lamps...hahaha come and get me :) just kidding.

Good luck with your work man. I would like to see more cool guys like you around California.

Off. Hoyt I believe The taillights can only be red or amber.
Because I've gotten a fix-it ticket for have hyper-white rear signals.

For the front signals it can be clear or amber.

Also, Can someone plz answer my question.

Is LS/Vtec(LS block with a Vtec Head) Legal???

You're right, I wasn't clear enough. The only white light you can have to the rear are your back-up lamps that may only be activated when you put the car into reverse.

I know the cvc says that the front signals can be either white or amber...but I've gotten pulled over before and the cop told me that they are not allowed to be clear. I didn't wanna argue though, or else he woulda popped the hood and ticketed me for the intake too.

If you're in CA, you could do one of two things:

1) Continue to keep quiet for fear the officer will find what's under your hood.

or

2) Go to the DMV website below, find and print out section 24953(a). You could give it to the officer along with your license and registration. However, if you do that, refer to your fear from choice number 1.

But dont they have to have "probable cause" to have you pop your hood?? How is giving him a print out of the CVC giving the officer PC???

Peace:D
