SJpopo? Maybe you can help here. Got a Ticket with out of state licnese in CA and paid it. Living out of state, I didn't find out that payment wasn't accepted till it was way too late. A $108 ticket shot to $650. Judge said no-go on a reduction. I left the state and didn't pay the ticket. I beleive it to hold to a $1000 limit now, unless stopped and formally asked to pay, and then it becomes a $10,000 Felonious offense if not handled.

So this was 6 years ago. My question is, how long do these stay in the system that you guys can access? What do you guys do if you pull someone like me over (as in what would you do)? Would you suggest I tell the officer of the situation when If I get pulled over, or not?

Thanks

If you don't pay for a ticket, it turns into a bench warrant. If you get pulled over in CA, and if the warrant is big enough, you'll get arrested, booked and transported to the jail in the county where you got the ticket.

Try calling the warrants unit of the department that cited you. Tell them the situation. Ask if you have a warrant. If so, ask what your options are.

Drive safe,
