Can anyone provide me with the minimum range of most radar guns?
Thank You,

The cop had really tall snowbanks on each side of him and was sitting right beside the road facing perpendicular to it. He couldn't have shot down the road and by the time he pulled out, I was doing the speedlimit. I calculated it and he was less than 30 feet from my car to his radar gun.
I goto court on tuesday. On top of this, they have yet to honor my Freedom of information request so that should get me off by itself, but they still have a few days.

I haven't gotten trained on radar yet, so I really don't know.

I looked in that subject a long time ago.
Laser guns are very precise and radar guns have a very small coverage angle now too, so that makes them very precise.
the only way to get out of a radar ticket is either to demonstrate that the officer cannot use it properly (good luck there :)) by asking questions about the different procedures and pitfalls to know, etc, that it wasn't properly maintainted (they have a log of the calibrations and you can request it) or be able to demonstrate you couldn't go that speed (I won a case that way because of mechanical problems).
it's not an easy task, these things are very precise nowadays and typically the officer will read your speed for a few seconds, so they don't take random readings.
yes, but that's an old story. Before they were subject to read from rebounds, etc. It's not the case anymore but in some very specific cases which don't happen in our situations
