Today I was out running my usual errands in my SVO when i pulled next to a sharp looking early 90's Notchback LX Mustang. It looked IDENTICAL to my '93. I could even swear I could heard a blower whine on that bad boy. Well, before I could talk to him the light turned green and he took off. I scooted up besides him to edge him on to see how fast this thing was. Well, as soon as I got even he downshifted and nailed it! Next thing I know all I see is the tail end of pure Mustang! I didn't even bother but for the next 20 minutes I wanted to be in my blown '93 so I could have actually had a good race for once! Oh well, summer is almost here and I can start driving it again.
P.S. Working on a bypass valve for the SVO's turbo. Also I picke up a larger intercooler from a turbo coupe T-bird. These 2 mods should easily speed up the 4-banger some more. We will see

It's running pretty damn strong for 100K on the motor with no rebuild and such. I just finsihed cleaning it up. By that I mean cleaning the hell out it. I was vaccuming the leaves out of the crevices of the motor at one point. I also replaced pretty much every sensor possible and begun fixing the car up. I pulled a few dents here and there, got a few of the electical gremlins fixed up. I figure by summertime I might have it 90% restored back to a state where I can show it off and be proud of it. It WILL need a paint job and some new trim. The interior is looking better. I had some nasty stains over the carpet and the seats...but i worked them out finally. The car is definitely starting to take more precedence than my '93 (probably because SVO's are rare) Who knows, by summertime the SVO might be garage queen along with the '93 and the '88 will be the daily driver (which kinda defeats the purpose because i wanted fuel economy)

I originally wanted to set it up to be more of a road racer, so I ordered the suspension and the big brakes for it. I figured I'd need some power to push it to the edge in turns so i got carried away on the motor. The motor (although not in the state it is now) is actually out of my previous '88 5-spd which was wrecked in an accident when i was rear ended and piut in the hospital for some time. The '93 was actually bought with a blown motor and very low miles on the body. Amazing how things work out.
The difference between it and a stock 5.0 is amazing. I guess I CAN say this because I own both a stock and modded mustang...but the modded one will chew a stock stang a new one without even revving past 2500RPM. And when it comes to turning...no comparision.
