I have seen fire come out of normal cars such as eclipse and so fourth. How do you make flames come out of your exhaust? I have a universal exhaust.

why would u want to do that? that aint very cool..
just try floor ur gas and release it when u hit the top, if ur car got enough horsepower and ur exhaust system is straight enough, u should see it
u might need to tune ur fuel ratio a bit, a bit richer.
NA car dont backfire that much, while a Turbocharged, for some reason it back-fire a LOT. first of all, the 4G63 which i have run VERY rich.(high boost, high power) sometimes after combustion the un-burned fuel just pass thru to the exhaust and while the exhaust is hot enough to 'cook' them, therefore u got back-fire, but i gonna tell u that aint healthy.

couldnt u also do something with a spark plug? i dont really know what to do exactly, i only seen it on old pony/muscle cars around my g/f's place

Just richen up the mixture and bounce your car off the rev limiter.. its easy if you have bigger injectors and a adjustible rev limiter, (ecu or msd). Dont domestic guys put a spark plug by the exhaust? I remember going to a auto show one time and this guy had like a old charger that SHOT flames out of his pipe like a flamethrower.. was kinda cool :)

yeah the spark plug thing is an old trick. But most of the time flames coming out the back isnt a good thing. RX-7s can do it when they dont run cats, it has to do with just flooring it, letting off so the gas builds up, shift, and POOM out it goes. But if you have a flame coming out the tailpipe youre backfiring. You dont want that to happen

How do those old custom leadsleds from the 50's do it while sitting still? I've seen some shoot out flames 4 feet.

that sounds cool, but you are asking for trouble when you have that on your ride

they use a coil hooked up to their battery that is hooked up to a switch then they run a wire back to their exhaust tips. You have to have an unrestricted exhaust, and you have to have a normally aspirated engine with a manual choke. We have a guy here that has it on his truck, and every once in a while when it pops, the sound is louder than a gun going off. And trust me it doesn't sound good for his engine. Plus you have to rev REAL high while doing it and there goes half your tank.

One of the lits i have seen is pretty extensive, including an injector, smal tank and a small coil ignition system. Basically the injector sprays fuel into the exhaust stream and the spark ignites it, as long as the engine is running the flame are forced to exit the tailpipe. some of the old chop tops and sleds just pull the manual choke out all the way, and ignite the unburnt gasses. I shoot a few 1-2 footers out of the Skyline when drag racing it, but that has to do with the turbo and the richness I run on the Super AFC and it happens during a shift when the engine momentarily bogs, the BOV kicks off and there is a super rich mixture in the system.

get anti-lag.. that is one dumb answer dude, as if u want to replace ur exhaust system every 100 km then go for it, also and if u know how HARD and expensive it takes to install one.(u need a MoTEC computer for sure)
not to mention i am 100% sure u get a ticket everytime u SHIFT..plus the gas mileage..should be NO-HIGHER then 10mpg..
duh...
Dont listen to him..get anti-lag
Hey SIN 6, dont get mad it was a joke. And most people in here dont know what it is or how it works.
But you can....
Plumb 2X 1600cc injectors into your exhuast and run your car really lean so you get those EGT's up so the fuel will ingite. Just make sure you DONT use high pressure fuel injection fuel lines, they wont leak. What you want to use is thin rubber hose from Home Depot. This way you will develop a leak and gas will spill on your red hot manifold, then you will have flames coming out of your engine bay too. This will get you the most attention.

plain and simple, flames coming out of the exhaust aren't good.

My friend has an old beetle (like herby) whatever..and when Im behind him, and he lets off the gas....BOOM! holy shit its cool and he hasnt even done anything to his exhaust. Have you seen the pics of the skylines backfiring? bad ass shit?.....I think so

heh, well, that back-fireing from a high-rev shift is different then an Anti-Lag.
i have been considering get it install for my E4(crashed, now driving a 5) before, but the banging sound would get me into huge shit i am sure, its not only flames, but the sounds.

The carburated guys can get flames with a kit that uses a spark plug in each tailpipe, each ran to a coil, and are controlled by a ingnition box, and finally a switch mounted inside the car for turning the system on and off.
You simply rev the engine up, flip the switch and hold the gas pedal on the floor at the same time. Larger displacement engines, along with big carbs that feed them, can shoot flames up to 8 ft using this system.
If anyone is interested, e-mail me and I'll get you the phone # and I believe that they sell for around $150 or so.
I know a distributor that sells them. Street rod builder, called Happy Motoring in Asheville, NC.
I don't remember exactly how, but there's a way to blow your muffler on carburated cars. I think you rev the engine very high, turn it off but put your foot to the floor and then immediatly restart it; try it if you have a beater :)

whould you be able to stick a small fuel pump back there and have it on a button adn have the sparkplug on the button, so when you hit the fuel pump it sprays fuuel into ur back end exhaust, the exhast carries it out and bam sparkplug hit it! WHOOSH>>>>>

i think its some system made for turbo cars to burn the gases that are coming out of the wastegate when you shift or close the throttle, it helps evacutate the gases out of the exhaust faster so exhaust gases dont build up when the waste gate closes and the turbo starts building up boost again. i mostly see the flames from the turbo'd lemans cars. correct me.

the name of the game is propain, ive done it a few ways, the first way was just a small tank under my seat with a nozzle from a camp stove on it (the kind that lets alot of gas out really quick) with a length of 1/4 inch hose running under the back seats thrue the bottom of the spare tire area and directly in to the TOP of the muffler tip. thei took one of those gas grill igniters (little red button on a grill) and mounted it on my center counsoul behind my gear shift, ran the + and - wires to the tip the same way as the hose, at this point it get a little tricky, i took two2 inch copper screws shoved them thrue a small peice of pvc hose that fit snug (ill explain why later)then put them in two holes i drilled across from each other that are located about 2 inches past the hose, then hooked up the wires, this is the annoying part, u have to get the perfect spark gap, takes about an hour if your lucky, the short peices of hose are on the screws to keep your electricity going to the screws and not the entire tip (wich will kill your spark). this system worx just fine but i found that if u weld on a little air scoop on the bottom of the tip to get air flowin thrue the tip, doin git this way will get jaws dropping if u hit it at speed, u just open up the valve and hit the igniter, ive gotten 20 feet of flames at about 60, all the other ways ive done it were even more complicated than this and not worth writing about, word to the wise only use it while moveing..........enjoy and dont get arrested

Want flames? Rig up NOS and whatever ignition you want to your tail pipe and you got flames! But I't can only be done once on a car. Because It will blowup!!!!
Ok Children...let me help you out...

They sell a kit that does it.

might as well put a water hose; since when does nitrous burn by itself ? take some physics class
