Just thought I'd brag to you all... :D
My friend bought an R33 Skyline this morning, its a nice charcoal grey GTS-t 2.5L turbo... 1996 model.
we drove down in his dads car, paid the guy the money & just as we were about to leave, he hands me the new Skyline keys & says:
"I wanna see what my car is capable of before I try it out for myself. I'm just gonna follow behind you & watch"
 holy shit was i happy!!! not only was i getting to drift a Skyline, i was getting to drift someone else's Skyline!!! :D
so off we went back to his house to drop his dads car off & let me tell you... it was f**ken awesome.
the thing throws angles like you wouldnt beleive & has sooooo much torque (well, im used to an N/A 1.6L, remember? :D)
we got back to his place & you couldnt have wiped the smile off my face for anything! it was the best fun ive had in ages...
the back could be held out for so long, i just couldnt beleive it.
the only problem i found was the HICAS system. it really annoyed the shit outta me... it just feels 'unnatural' i guess. i know why the Japanese guys disconnect it now, it'd take a LOT of getting used to...
i encourage anyone who has ever got the opportunity, to drift a Skyline at least once in their lifetime. :D

nah, you can have plenty of fun in the non GTR Skylines, they are allready quick, and easy to tune, plus they are lighter and not AWD. You don;t want to be drifting a GTR, trust me, its not popular at all, GTS-T's are alot more common to drift. Hey Mr20v, i know what you mean man, after driving the hachi so long, no power steering, short wheelbase, lower power, then jumping in Trey's (my best friend) Skyline and go hit a few turns with it.. omg, so smooth, so easy, like 2 fingers on the wheel, the ass hangs out there all day, easy to keep sideways, plenty of power and his is mostly stock, it definatly wasn't bad for a $1500 car.

EXACTLY!!! :D
(although in USD this particular Skyline i was driving was probably about $8000 worth... a bit under $20,000 AUD)
ive heard how cheap the GTS-t is in Japan though... same with the S13's isnt it?

yes, it is the dumping ground for japanese turbo cars that have never had their oil changed, have been drifted off a cliff and put back together, have spent their lives under four feet of snow or have been flooded. we get the shittiest, the most poked, the fucked-uppest exports that our car dealers can find. if you find a good car it doesnt cost much though- thinking $7000NZ ($3k US) for a nice manual HR32 GTSt, but silvias are all rare & expensive here.
its not for long though, dont be so smug. as of the 1st of april cars manufactured before 1995 can no longer be imported into NZ. no more hachis, R32's, S13's, AW11's:(
it might even push up your prices in australia because they'll have nowhere to send the cars that couldnt make the grade to import to you.

hehe
yeah, either that or theyll start bringing all the crap ones over here at ultra cheap prices...
and i think we got the entire supply of second-hand Japanese S13 Silvias up for sale over the last 4 years or so too... :p
