For those of you that go to the tracks, what kind of suspension do u have setup in your car? And whats reccomended for going to the tracks?

front wheels toe-in, negative camber (I recommend from -1 to -3) but it depends on your car.

Do strut and sway bars help with drifting at all or hinder your ability to perform drifts. Sorry for the newbie question.
honestly, the STOCK ae86 is just fine for drifting, as long as you have an LSD. It's a bitch with out the lsd.

yeah learn to drift in a stock GTS the when u feel u need more stiff ness slowly add parts to your car.
The first thing u should get is TRD or new OEM bushings.

im pending to get 18X8 rears and 17X7.5 fronts on my 240. but im also considering running wither 17's all around or 18's all around. im a gripper and not much of a swinger. only thing that bothers me about the 17f 18r combo is that i will not be able to rotate wheels. im leaning more towards 18 all around but im thinking how that would perform. a couple of my buddies already run 17's front and 18's rear and its a good combo... hmmm what u guys think?

The 17's in the front and 18's in the back seem like a great combo. Although 18's would seem to big and wouldnt it make you engine work a little harder since the rim is bigger? hmmm what i would go for is 17x8f, 17x9r widest tire in the back. like 235's, i dont think you fit a 245 on their but hey never say never. i think to have those 18's and grip you gotta be pushing like 270+ for you to balance out running fast on those big rims espcially going uphill which has got to be one of the funnest things around for a gripper to do. I gripped here in the mountains of san jose, mad fun. Only once since though.

what kind of power are you putting down? 17's have a ton of rotating mass, and cause BIG power losses.

sr20det powered 240sx...
mods: intake, 3 inch downpipe, 3 inch catback, boosted to 12psi.
its probably good for 225+hp to the fly. 2 of my friends run 17's all around and getting our wheels spinning with those rims are no problem. we can barely get the grip on the road.
i will be building the motor to push 300rwhp and 18's rear are a really good choice for me. only thing that bothers me is 18's front which i think would affect my steering quite a bit.
btw i plan to be running 245/40/18 rear and 225/45/17 front. and 255's can fit on our s13's.

Daim 255's good shit. i think you should stick to 17x8-17x9's in the front. 2225 should do it.
