There are lots of racers in salinas...sooo many! you just cant stop racing! haha..Really i would say about in total 10 cars in salinas that are usually down to race in salinas located at 1 of the 2 Nob Hills in salinas..Or drive up and down North Main and you can usuallyu find someone to race there...Most racers out there are not that great..Unless you see some cars with a logo that says "Explicit Edition" Then ya better step! Otherwise there isnt much out there..Keep in mind there are about 4 teams that i know of in salinas..Thas about all i know..But im sure you can find a good race out there! woohoo salinas!

salinas is known better for your stock accords with fart cans for mufflers or no muffler at all and neon window squirters... i know this cause i live here and race here. i belong to team explicit edition and we are the only racers that will give a decent race up. the other guys talk more than anything. its ridiculous... you smoke one then thay come back and say it was close we want to run again! i never knew 3-4 cars was close? you can hit me up via email or aim its on my profile if you want to hook up for races but to tell the truth i was looking to go out of town for the weekend... if you get me soon enough and my girl dont want to go out maybe we can hook up and ill show you around my ghetto. we have hosted private runs for reputable clubs in our area and had good nights of racing... elusive, nemesis, can second that! let me know.

Anyone know anything about a small crew around here that I think is called Night Division? I only took a quick look at the windshield banner but I think thats the name, one of the guys in it told me that a lot of racing goes on in Salinas, so I said we should hook something up after I finish smogging my miata.

Salinas on a Sat night isnt shit. Friday night they meet up at both Nob Hills. But most people just rev or do burnouts in the parking lot and dont actually race. What kinda times do you run and maybe we can tell you who to line up with for some friendly runs. Explicit has mostly 12,13,14 sec cars, but most of the other crews have other cars to run too. DXplcitone can set you up if you want some runs. Ill be up in Tahoe snowboarding this weekend.

I don't know what it runs, its a 6psi kit on a miata and I've heard of others with that running in the 14s with good traction, but I think that would be overly optimistic in my case since I have an open diff and my clutch is slipping some. Anyway it would be cool to race someone who knows exactly what they run so I can atleast get some idea of what I run.

Night Division have 2 older Integras (white & red), a CRX and an old Porche. From what I have heard they are all squeezing. From running them Im guessing that the 2 integras are low 15 second cars. They also have a few other cars that don't come out too often but I think their CRX is their fastest car. [edit] The porche isn't squeezing it is turbo.

Yeah - I'm going to Sac - and not coming back! Gotta move up there this weekend. Then again, I'll be living 2.5 miles away from the track, and the rest of you fools will be driving three hours. :>

NgRaViTy - don't buy this "if it doesn't say Explicit Edition it's not fast" shit either. Yeah - they've got some fast cars, but you also never know when you might roll up on the wrong WRX wagon (not mine anymore!), or the guy in the black 5.0 - I seem to remember a turbo ls CRX and a 300zx that got beat by that one. :) Also, depending on what you're riding in (you could be in a high 15 second car, who knows) - there's plenty to lok out for - like civic hatchbacks with gsr swaps and such. Or you might be in a 12 second ride, and not worry about anything really.

The guy from Night Divisions with the porsche lives two houses down from me, right now its broken and he's asked me if I can fix it, neighbors have been doing that since I have 4 cars in my driveway that I'm always tinkering with. I don't know if I'm gonna go ahead and work on the Porsche or not, he's getting the manual first so I can get up to speed on that car. He told me the CRX in their crew is the fastest.
Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, The miata is still running but pissing me off in some ways, the front bolt on the head that holds the supercharger broke! Its still broken and somehow the remaining bolts are holding it and even tho the belt is shredded some its still been working that way for like a month. I think I'll just leave it alone until after I do the smog, then fix it and put in the checkvalve kit and start saving for a new clutch. I finally did an intake swap on my ranchero but no way is it gonna beat anything other than a stock accord right now, and I only say that because it beat one while it still had the 2barrel set up :) You have to email me or something and tell me where they do the actual racing here in Salinas, not just where they hook up. I know where one of the Knob Hills are at, the one accross from Hollywood Video, have no clue where the other one is.
Oh and a friend of mine wants to start a detailing biz with me so if you or guys from your crew need detailing give me a yell and I'll give a price list.

everybody has to get beat some time? the 300z and the crx!!! you have to admit though the 5.0 earns his respect very fast very clean and the owner if a nice guy which makes him that much more respected... but yes watch out at the light when this guy lines up next to you.

as for moving to sac good luck with that one... it doesnt sound like such a bad idea with the home market the way it is out here ill never be able to buy in. fuck! but yeah good luck man... go where the opportunities take you!

ALAN! Man there must be a serious problem with your supercharger alignment and pulley. If that thing keeps shredding thats bad. Well hope it all works out though...=) Best way to find races is go to the nobhill across from holleywood video and follow the people out there...thats about all you can really do unless of course you setup private runs which are usually the way to go..=)

Hey Lee, well for awhile I had the belt perfect, I shimmed the SC and lenghtened my crossover just a tad and put a slightly shorter belt, but it looks like the plate that holds the idler pulleys bent some, I've heard they give out sometimes and some people make their own, I was just surprised since I had the belt pretty loose. Even with the shredding problems the belts may look like hell but they last several months, I have 4 months on the current one and it doesn't seem to be slipping either. Oh and check your email.

Hey - I'm just making the point that every time someone mentions Salinas I always seem to see a post following it saying "Well, if it doesn't have an Explicit Edition sticker on it, it's not fast" - but there are quite a few exceptions when you really look around. :)

As far as Sac - it's not really my choice, the girlfriend is going to school at Sac State, so we need to move out there. I can't afford a damn thing around here, hopefully in the housing market out there I can buy something at some point.

For the time being I'll have to settle for apartment life - but I'll still have a project and be out on the track, so I'm sure I'll see you guys around out there.

I havent heard or seen any other really fast cars except for Explicit cars, some Domestics, a WRX Ryan, and a couple of other cars. When Explicit's White Integ raced the Neon From SpeedShow The Integ gave him a car length lead i beleive and still smoked him by far. Though i dont know what there fastest car is i would like to see it =)

As far as the "if it doesnt say explicit on the window its not fast" statement. I will never say that because its not true. There are some fast cars like shaun's, and some really fast 9,10 sec domestics. But as far as the group who meet up at Nob Hill, theres not many fast cars. I dont go out all that much so Im sure there are some quick cars I dont know about. But the most part Explcit has the faster imports around town. Yes al, marc, and you jason have all lost to shaun in his stang. Everyone loses sometimes, and theres always a faster car. I dont think Al is doing the work on his car to rematch shaun, i think its because the tranny went out and it had to be worked on. SO what better time to upgrade then while its already down.

For the most part, it seems like almost all car clubs in the area(Salinas) are into show. When people talk smack about "ricers" it's usually referring to cars with Tachs, xenon bulbs, big mufflers and and stickers(oh and a big ass wing!). Thats mainly what's out here. The kind of clubs I, PERSONALLY respect are those that make their cars fast: Testing cars, swapping parts and tech, doing track runs etc.

How many clubs in the area do this??? To my knowledge very few. I'ts not that there aren't any other fast CARS out there, there just aren't many fast CLUBS out there. I love 'Stangs. I would love to get involved with a group o 'stang owners. Man our rides would terrorize!! But, the truth is, most people aren't dedicated to making their cars fast. I could'nt find anyone really into it.

That's why I enjoy and respect the explicit crew. "Speed b 4 style"

I'm not going for the NOS after all.considering other options...

use to be good back in the day when we had our track to ourselves and not the entire city of salinas now... it was noticed by the other racers in town and they crowd it and fucked it up for us... cops are all over it now..
the only good runs would be to set up some private runs with us if you like you can email or aim me and ill give you the 411. but it is winter cold as fuck and most cars are apart being worked on... but ill find you something..

as for sentras.. not many.. and if any none are se-r's... love them se-r though...! but salinas dont have many... most of salinas is kids ricin around town..which is werid cause most are mexican! rice=mexican??? i dunno!

but anyways its not worth the drive.. it right off 101 about 45 minutes south of 408. come talk to me... ill tell you when its right to set something up..
