Tech 3 SUCKS

I've had some problems with my coolant system so i did what many other car owners would do and take it to a shop. I had the car taken to TECH 3, a performance shop that specialize in Customer service (yeah right!) After the sytem was flushed and what not I drove it home and white smoke emmanted from the left engine lid. Turns out that there were air bubbles in the system. Took the car back to have it fixed and next thing i know i'm told that that my coolant system had a leak and turns out that it was the "hose from hell". With no other option, i had it replaced and was given a down time of one day. SOunds resonable right! Wrong!, I call later in the day (4-5 hours later) to see how far along the car was and they said that they havent even touched the car!!!! I was furious to say the least but kept my cool since I didn't want them to fuck the car up and say i needed more things repaired. Nonetheless, the owner, William said that i needed a new turbo gasket, oil pan gasket (i'll get to that later), exhaust manifold gasket, studs and bolts for the manifold. Damage= 5-600 dollars. He then told me that the parts wont come it till friday and mind you, it was tuesday that i brought the car in. I let him do it. On friday evening i called anxiously to pick up my car. Conversation went like this:

Chuck (a dickhead): "Hello Tech 3."
Me: "Hi, can i pick up my MR2 now?"
Chuck: "Sorry man, but we're not done yet and i don't think you can pick it up till tomorrow".
Me: "whadda you mean i can't pick it up, you said friday and i even given you till the evening to finish it!"
Chuck: "Sorry but you can't pick it up till tomorrow"
Me: "can you guarantee it'll be done tomorrow?''
Chuck: "No!"


WTF!!!! Wheres the goddamn customer service and quality service you guys were suppose to be known for!!!! I had no choice but to wait till tomorrow.
Tomorrow comes and i call at @ 2pm. Spoke to Will and he said give him another hour. I gave him an hour and had my GF take me to the shop. I see my car outside and went to the counter to pay my bill. After waiting 25 minutes to get someone to service me I had to waint an additional 20 minutes for Chuck aka speed racer to print out the bill with his oh-so proficient typing skills. It seemed like torture as i watch this fag peck at the keyboard one letter at a time to write my goddamn bill! I paid a staggering 700.01 dollars and left. End of story, actually it only get worse.
After driving home i checked my coolant level and realized that there wasn't coolant in the resvoir. Not one drop. I took it back on monday and they filled it up but of course with attitude. I had it with this place. No more!
A week later i went to my GF's sisters' BF (Mike) to have my valve cover gasket replaced. Why i didn't go to him in the first place you ask? Because i didn't know he owned a shop. Anyways i had the gasket done and picked up the car that same day. Now heres the bad news, remember the oil pan gasket i mentioned above, well, he told me that Fucking Tech 3 had NOT replaced the gasket but rather seal it with a glue to prevent the leak! In addition, they removed the oil pressure guage and coupled the two terminals with a wire to fool the system!!!! WTF!!!! I didn't even want to know what else they screw me on! On another note, Tech 3 said that i needed to replace my cam gasket. Mike said that it was fine and didn't need replacing. Good thing i didn't let tech 3 do it. Well, sorry for the long post but i just needed to vent and let everyone know that TECH 3 sucks and no one should go there unless they don't value their car. Theres more to this story but I'll need to talk to a few more ppl till i resolve this matter.

So again, if you're in the bay area and want a reputable shop i DO NOT recommend TECH 3!! BTW, i've had many other people tell me that that Tech 3 are shady MF's and will screw you over unless you know them personally. Just a heads up!

i hated that store even before they opened, when i went there they didnt know shit! they cant tell a fog light from a side marker. i asked them for some sport tires and they offered me some ngkr z rated tires! lol they are a joke. dont ever go that damn shop. thats my .02

fuck i hate tech3 too... cant even do a tune up.... i let them do it and when the next day comes my fuckin car was acting strange (no engine power, etc...) .... since i didnt live with my dad i decided not to bother him with my car at that time but after it acted up then i brought it to him... just like tkhov i regret not bringing it to my dad in the first place". After spending the day at my dads house my dad tells me that those guys freakin drilled the new spark plugs into the ports which nearly destroyed the treads which had to be re-treaded... and when my dad cleaned the ports peices of tiny paper comes flying out... im never going back there again you'll never know what else they would fuck up on ... just hope your not the next victim...and yeah there service is bad... peace (they may be good with some things but it seems like they just fuck up with the little things)

Sorry if you guys know about tech 3 already but i'm new here.
So heres an update!
1. Yes, Mike did screw me over! He used some generic ass gasket and it blew a few months later. I took it back to have it repaired by him and when i got it back i discovered that they had used Silicon sealant to seal the valve cover! WTF! Anyways, i did the job myself and made it work perfectly so far. I'm just gettin screwed left and right!

3. I did go back to tech 3 but not to start any trouble. I went with a friend who knows them personally and just kinda tagged along. I saw the "three stooges" (Will, Chuck, and some fobby ass foo) and didn't say anything. After 15 mins of standing there Will finally said "sup" to me and i just merely nodded. After we left the place. My friend turned to me and said:
Him:"dude, did you see the smirk on Wills face?"
me: "No, what happened?"
Him: "man, i think he knows he screwed you over!"


Damnit! That bitch ass Will knew he screwed me over and was smiling about it!

Bottom line! BOYCOTT TECH 3

All i have to say is... "You get what you pay for"... for example, if you pay for a 'generic-ass gasket' then thats what you'll get. (i'm not saying that you did, i dont know enough facts)... but at the same time, some places like to rip people off.

I didn't know that he was going to use generic shit. And i did pay $200 just to have the gasket done which i found out was higher than what the dealer charged. Oh wells, i'm learning from my mistakes and paying a great price for it.

Have to bump this because I saw some funny shit today.

Tech 3 installed a blowoff valve on a VW 1.8t Gti recently. Too bad the stupid fuckers capped the intercooler pipe and hooked the blowoff valve up to the inlet pipe before the turbo. Holy shit I didn't think anyone that claims to work on cars could be that stupid. Hopefully the guys turbo didn't get too fucked because you know they will not help him out if his shit breaks.

Yeah...one of my friend went there a while back..like back in 97. Took them a week to install a greddy turbo kit. We knew William, and thats why we went his shop to see whats he up to...or he'll lag like a muther F@ker. Any how, after installing the turbo kit and driving it around for 2 days, we notice something seriously was wrong. We took a good look at the installation, and notice the piping for the blow off valve was installed backwards(dummies). charged $650 for the install too. Anyhow he's all pissed, went back to just hang around. We noticed a full 4-door gsr leather seat that they had laying around, so we asked how much he's willing to sell it for, and he said some odd price that i can't remember. He let us take the seats first before paying for it. We left with the seats and never returned back to the shop. HAHA -PAY BACK you TECH 3 hookers-

Now as for the their actual shop, they do not have an offical license to work on cars, but use an certified oil change license or something shiet like that to make costumer to believe thier real mechanics. Thats probably the reason why they do crappy ass jobs or install things the wrong way. I know they can't tune worth shiet, only thing their good at is oil change and probably a car wash....peace

i think tech3 is cool. i got some stuff done there and it was well done. they even stayed open an extra half hour so i could get my car before they closed when they put my header on. and i don't know them personlly. i just wouldn't go there for major engine work just stuff like a drop or other basic stuff i cant do myself.

is this motorsport dynamics? they installed coilovers on my friend's S4 and did a very good, quick job. only charged him $200 instead of the $420 that new dimensions quoted. btw, audi's need a special tool to get the suspension in, that's the only thing stopping us from doing it. (the thing looks like a miniture rubic's cube)

I'm down to back them up also...I dunno if it's because I became good friends with them...but they were ALL really cool to me. Chuck even bought me lunch when it was taking a lil longer then ecpected to install my pully's. As far as there install goes...I have yet to have any problems with anything they have installed.
