it all depends on your bike, type of insurance, history, age, and more.

" is bike insurance more or less than car insurance?....example...Suzuki GSX-R750 compared to an Acura Integra LS "

Well, the gsxr 97+ 750 is going to cost alot more to insure than say a 93 cbr600. Its newer and thus more costlier, and bigger and faster and again more $$ to insure.

"and does points from my driver's licenese carry over to my bike license...if i get one?"

Yes, so if you got speeding tickets and stuff, expect to pay a lot more. In fact if you go to some insurance companies and you have a big bore bike and a bad record, theyll turn you away. Hell if you have a 600cc bike and a bad record theyll turn you away.

"also im 18...if that matters "

Yes that does matter, younger we are, the stupider we are. Or so the insurance co. says. Expect to pay more than an equal history rider whos 25 or over.

So bascially, if your 18, with a few points for speeding or accidents, have a 99 gsxr 750, expect to pay a lot.

There isnt one rule of thumb for everyone. I know some guys who have been quoted 1500$ a year for full coverage, and went to another agent and got 500$ a year full coverage (state farm, but you have to a car with them).

It is alot less if you want one way coverage, more for full coverage. You got fairings, more cash, and you got more cc's thats more cash too.You live in a bigger city, more $$, and you got a hot bike (R6), more cash. Newer bike too, more $$$.

But if you finance, most times the financer requires FULL coverage, consider that too. You want to know the real cost for YOU, call your agent.

Call your ins company and see how much it would be to add it on to your car's insurance. To add my Mustang on to my Cherokee's plan, I actually paid $10/month less cause of the multiple vehicle discount ($130/month, liabiliy only w/ 5 speeding tix, 1 at fault accident)
I'm insured through Mercury Insurance. They seem to have good rates (State Farm was getting $1500/6months compared to $800 with Mercury)

My GSXR-750 costs me $1100/year, and that's Canadian. I'm 19 with only one speeding ticket.

2mm overbore (so it's not really a 750 - shoosh) from Wiesco pistons at 13:1 compression. Ported heads, with bored out injection throttle bodies (from 41 to 43mm). Dynojet Power Commander controls the EFI. Custom dual exhaust from Moriwaki Engineering. And of course a K&N filter. With a Mickey Thompson Shootout on the rear, my beast can run a 10.026 at 146mph.
