Hey.... I'm from the mainland, but I have family there (oahu) and I visit on occasion.... I was wondering where the Hawaiian Runz are at? Does everyone only run at the track? Or is there a big night scene too?? Just curious.... I'm visiting in October
hey...we should all go there...LOL...how would we bring our cars? LOl...it's not a big island...I'm sure we could find um if they were there.

i moved from there about 4 years ago...back then, the races were pretty much done on the freeways.
a long ass time ago we used to have street races at point panic and sandy's. but this was like in the 80's...
there was also an incident there last week where an integ got torn in half. they said he was racing and hit a chevron sign or something like that.

I haven't met any racers here yet; I've talked briefly with 1-2 people by email (I looked at the Hawaii racers on MKIV.com), but we've never met or anything.
Are there any local car enthusiast meets, etc ?
I went as a spectator to the track twice and it pretty much sucked both times

this is some funny shit, man i went to this thread to see what kind of stuff they had about street racing in hawaii and saw that their were only about 3 people from hawaii. but the most racing that i do or see is on the free ways or city steets, but i also live in the wrong side of the island to be involved with the organized shit. also i don't even no if people are still doing the organized street raceing because the police are really cracking down.

Mahalo All I live on Hawaii and I have never been to street races. I know that people go to drift at tantlis<checkout "808 speed vol. 3>". Also a lot of the racers come out at 1:00- 3:00 at Tesoro in MIlilani. there is a lot of small racing done on the freeways too.

no shit.... in Mililani? wow.... I've seen a coupla ricers there when I went to look at the apartment my parents used to live in when I was born. But thats tight. So I should go to Mililani when I'm out there? Oh and thats on Oahu... the island with diamondhead... waikiki.... you know... Dood.... drifting too... damn.... hawaii is cool!

I haven't seen much here; There are some rice boys here and there, but I haven't seen any semi organized races or anything.

I wish there were beaches like in Hawaii over here... damn theyz got some nice ass beaches.... the beaches in Cali aren't half as nice...

South California has nice beaches too; it's not the same, of course, but it's still pretty good.
Norcal really sucks on the other hand.
When you're talking about girls, you're talking about tourists; The local girls are mostly fat and have kids at 15
The other issue is that the island has a strong Japanese influence and, even though I'm all for mixing cultures, I honestly hate the Japanese one; Having worked for a Japanese company, I grew a complete disrespect for their ways and usages.

He he yeah girls are really easy when they are only going to be around for a few days! They have this "oh no I'll never see him again" mentality and become instantly vulnerable. Not only that, but they seem to magically all become single.

Hawaii's great, but I'm not too convinced about the hot girls part and I live right in Waikiki so I see girls in suimsuits all the time; Most of them are the perfectly common 'girl next door', which is cool, but not 'hot' like you'd see on posters, etc

Hi guys, I know there are a lot of racers that hang out at Starbucks in the evenings, especially the Pearlridge one in Honolulu. I just came from Hawaii, my family also lives there. Other than that everyone on the freeway drives 50 mph and there's always traffic in the daytime...

haha this is kind of late to post even though it's been almost a year since the last post. But yeah I'm from Hawaii, Oahu. Born and raised here all my life and there's been a whole lot of stuff. There's car cruises, meets, drift session at the tracks, etc... too bad I didn't know about this msg board like 4 years ago. LOL! Yeah that one car crash at the Chevron in Kahala Mall area was messed up. About a year and a half ago something similar to that happened. Car cruise on a main BLVD near WAikiki + running a red light + a borrowed car = tragedy.
