is $500 more than msrp, a carbon triple tree cover and tank guard too much to ask? does anyone know the wiggle room they have. i hear its 10%, but i wont pay above msrp plus 500 to cover the other b.s. and i want free goodies. its a 2001 gixxer 600,a nd i dont want to spend all my loot on it. help me out, cuz i never dealt with a dealer before. peace. -sac racer

hey sac racer, brand new gsxr, nice.

buying a new bike is tough. it really depends on the demand. the new gsxr600, might cost a bit more than you want. i remember the r6 last year was going for like 9500 OTD! ridiculous, but thats supply and demand.

expect to pay msrp plus all fees, what ever they are. i really dont think anyone will get the cbr f4i, r6, and gsxr600 under msrp this year.(the ninja 6r's are marked up to a grand off this season, slow sales i guess)

but, get them to throw some shi7 in, at least a 10-15% discount on gear this season if you buy it through them, maybe some carbon parts or whatever. See about the warranty too, and get the suzuki warranty, not the dealership one. the dealership ones are only good at each individual dealer, where the factory warranty is good anywhere from suzuki!

good luck man!

oh yeah, dont be afraid to walk man. if they try to pull something on you, just say "hey i would have paid xxxxx amount right now, but you want xxxxxx, so forget it" and leave. Maybe they will do your price, and if not, find another dealer, there are good deals out there.

When I was shopping around, all the current 600's were goin for MSRP plus tax and licensce.I was reading Cycle Trader the other day,and places were asking $700 under MSRP on the new 600's...sounds like a good deal to me.Ill try to find the name of the place.
