Ok...here's the deal. It seems as if though police don't give a fuck about the law that they're supposed preserve. So I say take action against the police. Let's write a petition to AEM to take legal actions against Fremont Police and/or any other law enforcement agencies for the fix-it tickets. AEM advertised as it being "street-legal" in all 50 states, but everyone is getting tickets. So I think everyone here who got a ticket for CARB approved equipments are entitled to a refund. I'm sure the company will decide what's best for their company's sake. What do ya'll think?

P.S. Anybody wanna go picketing to Fremont Police? We could also try to get the press to come :)

This is the link to California Air Resource Board:
<a href="http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/aftermkt.htm#ca">List of parts granted Executive Order</a>
Now....i was thinking....If we could get a hard copy from the board and just carry it with us...wouldn't that work?

You know what the problem with picketing the Fremont PD is?
You would end up with a bunch of morons with the famous "drag racing is not a crime shirts on" and other StreetRacing.Org stuff. That would be great for the press to see.
BTW- For those people who are going to flame me for commenting on their poor investment-
23109. (a) No person shall engage in any motor vehicle speed
contest on a highway. As used in this section, a motor vehicle speed
contest includes a motor vehicle race against another vehicle, a
clock, or other timing device. For purposes of this section, an
event in which the time to cover a prescribed route of more than 20
miles is measured, but where the vehicle does not exceed the speed
limits, is not a speed contest.
(b) No person shall aid or abet in any motor vehicle speed contest
on any highway.
(c) No person shall engage in any motor vehicle exhibition of
speed on a highway, and no person shall aid or abet in any motor
vehicle exhibition of speed on any highway.
(d) No person shall for the purpose of facilitating or aiding or
as an incident to any motor vehicle speed contest or exhibition upon
a highway in any manner obstruct or place any barricade or
obstruction or assist or participate in placing any barricade or
obstruction upon any highway.
This needs to be focused on the abuse of power by the police, not on how you should be able to get away with a ilegal activity

BTW- I'm totally behind you and am willing to gather signatures if you can put together exactly what the petition says.
It needs to involve more than AEM though. Every single company out there has CARB legal parts. Also it is not the fault of the company that you are getting jacked with. They have done a lot of work and spent a lot of money to get that CARB sticker for their parts.
I think it would also be advantagous if you can find some people who took their case to court and had the charges dismissed. Most of the people I know just pay the fine because it costs less than taking time off work
Actually I thinkI have a better idea, lets petition CRB to require stickers with holagrams like the new drivers license's, so cops can't just say- oh its fake

Well the thing with those is that....the CARB doesn't even print out hard copies of List of Parts Granted Executive Order because they wanna save money. They're supposed to send me a hard copy but it's been more than a month since they told me that. I highly doubt that they'll be making hologram stickers. Also I did not say let's picket to make street races legal. Picketing was just an idea which probably never will happen seeing how the people are so organized and all.... But getting tickets when you're not supposed is a big problem. When you buy a part you pay for the researches and the tests that the company did to get approved by the CARB. But what happens when a cop says that whatever the company says doesn't matter. We deserve our money back if we choose to. But the petition is letting the companies know that we are seriously irritated by how their product is getting us in trouble when "they" told us it won't. I think we should sign a petition at a next big meeting or show or something like that. You think we could pull this off?

I disagree, ignorance on the part of the officer is not hte comanies problem, they have spent a great deal of energy just to get the parts legal. This is a problem with the police.
Now if you have a part that is legal, it is listed on the CARB web page. If some one is selling you parts that aren't on that, by all means, thats their fault- and they are ripping you off
On the holograms, after typing that I realized that cops tell people the welded plates on headers are fake too, so that wouldn't help.
And on the picketing issue, I'm just of the opinion that you wouldn't get any kind of crowd that would demand the respect of the public to take action.
Now, if we were all herion addicts, they would all over helping us out.
I understand that you didn't want the picketing to be for legal street racing- I just hate those shirts

CARB does print a book of all the EO #'s...don't know how often it is updated though. This book can be had by law enforcement agencies...though I'm not sure if they just get sent to them, have to be requested, or what.
Personally, I have seen the Sunnyvale PD with one of these books. They used it at a roadblock one night. Basically, if you had a part with no # and no paperwork, you got a ticket, they weren't going to look it up for you.
But if you had an EO #, they would use the book to verify your # was correct and the part was listed for use on your make/model of vehicle.
On another note, the CARB online database had previously not been updated for over a year. It was recently updated in April, so listings should be fairly current: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/devices.htm
why dont u just get out of fremont ... if u know yur gonna get a ticket then drive a different car .. ignorance only killed the idiot
