I have no idea what degree to set my cam gear at..

I have a 2.2LSOHC, everyone tells me its easier to play with the timing on a SOHC because one cam handles the in and out. So I take it on a SOHC Advancing the timing would give ya better results (HP Pick up) ?..I have an AEM gear so I have 10 +,- to play with how do I know how much to advance it?..Im sorry if this seems like a dumb question...its just Its set @ 4 degrees now and the pick up isnt noticeable..But my intake is now VERY LOUD.

You need to put it on a dynojet and see what kind of power it makes. Make runs from +2 to +8. Run with most horsepower obviously is the best choice. G'luck...
