460hp Cobra vs 580hp Cobravs 400 hp Saleen

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with a man with a passion for horsepower and a love for mustangs. He had 2 amazing cars in his stable. A black 04 Cobra with a 2.2 Kenne Belle blower pushing out upwards of 580hp, and a 2000 Saleen with a factory blown 400hp engine.

My friend and I met up with this enthusiast at his house. Really cool guy and We decided to take the cars out to see how they would do in combat. My friend drove the Saleen, the owner commandeered the Kenne Belle Cobra and I drove my trusty White Cobra.

Race 1: So as soon as we get a chance, we decide to to line them up. First the Saleen lines up with my white cobra, and go from a 60mph roll. Running from 3rd gear, the cobra instantly takes the lead and starts putting some distance between it and the saleen. Win for the White Cobra.

Race 2: The KB Cobra decides to see how he would do with the Saleen. This was a no contest. The Cobra walks on the Saleen like there was no tomorrow.

Race 3: The most interesting race was my White Cobra vs the Black Cobra. Now this was not as easy as the Saleen but the Black Cobra won nonetheless. Starting from 60mph to 130mph the Black Cobra had put about 10 Car lengths on me.

Those cars look sick. Is your car still at stock ride hieght? Cause I dont think the black one is, although the saleen might be.

Does stock ride height mean you have not done any modifications to your suspension? Figured with the amount of power you're putting down you would need suspension.

Kinda off topic, but, how does the irs on your cobra feel? Ive heard that it wasnt that big of an improvement (driver feeling wise) over solid axle mustangs, since its basically just a derivative of thunderbird tech. Just wondering what a cobra owner has to say, as I was thinking about getting a mustang, but i like hittin up the mountains more than the stright line stuff. But the mustang performance is hard to beat for the buck.
