This is going to be a long one, so hold on!
Had 2 nice kills tonight, heres the first one...
My friends and i were going to Bonedaddy's Restraunt in Richardson, Texas and we were at this light in Allen and my friend was in like a 98 Ext. Cab Chevy with one of the last vortec 350s made. I turn off my A/C and my radio to see if he's revving at me (he has a standard). No revving, so i'm like he's not going to race so i just take off like normal, and my other friend that was on the passenger side in the truck kept telling him i was going to run, so the driver of the truck was like "F it! Why not?!?" and gunned it, i heard it and floored it (we're still in 1st). He chirped in 2nd, then i chirped in 2nd, he was about a bumper ahead of me, i then chirp 3rd (i dont' know how, but did it) and just leave him cause he has no top end. My heart was beating hard the whole way due to that cops like to sit right over the hill after the light. So we slow down and just head towards the highway 75
The second kill...
We're still going to Bonedaddys on 75 at about 10p.m. and when we cross the Richardson city limit, i see this about 80's Lude 2.0L Si (i think it said Si, i'm not sure). I catch up and pace her doing about 80, 2 cute chicks in the car. Me and my friend in the passenger side throw up so peace signs and exchange greetings. Then she hits it and i knew she wanted to run, so i drop to 3rd and just pull from her like she was nothing! After that we just played in the traffic, they eventually got off on some exit and flashed their brights, and i tapped my brakes saying thanks for the fun.
I got a question, are the early Lude's quick? Or was hers just probably got some problems with it? Well either way, it was fun, and i'll take the kills as i get 'em. Haven't had a race in awhile......

Damn!!!!!You chirpped 3rd. ??????? What do you dyno at to the rear wheels? I knew those GS' had some power but I did'nt know it was spankin Vortec 350's. I think you're cars all wheel drive put you out front though. That was a pretty good race with the prelude too. I hear those 2.0 si's are pretty quick off the line and have a strong top end. You might want to get a wing to give more downforce on the straights so you get more traction off the line. Then who knows ? Next Friday you might be puttin the smak down on DX's ( they're low powered but their low weight makes them especially quick )Just watch'em though, the stickered up cars are usually the quickest.

Well like i said i don't know how the hell i did it, but i did. Or maybe it was my imagination or something, but who knows. And like i said, it was an Ext. Cab truck, so he had alot of extra weight also and that was against him. And the Eclipse GS is a FWD car, only the GSX's are AWD. So that wasn't it. I think it's cause he had all the extra weight, and plus my my car has alot of top end and his doesn't.
I am getting a wing though, plus body kit and probably lower it about an inch and a half and upgrade to 17 inchers. And the list just keeps going on and on.... I'm on a mission to beat my female friend's, boyfriend's Cobra! Can i do it?.......I bet so!
send donations!!!!! LOL

Once you get the intake on you'll probably gain around 25 horse to the wheels. Add the downforce from the wing and the aero effect of a kit and the greater diameter of the 17's and I gotta say it would be close between your car and a Cobra. But I'd bet on you cus your car is a little lighter. Have you considered stickers or graphics yet? Also something you may not have considered is rear louvers. It's old skool but it difuses turbulent air coming over the wing giving a bernoulli effect and decreasing the total weight of the car. Just remember, the most important racer credo is " it's all stock " . Oh those altezza's are gonna look hella tight. Just remember to silicone them so they don't leak.
Solidus. AND THEY KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE ?????

Well that intake isn't just all, i'm going to put better cams, new camshaft, lower the compression, put in probably a t3/t4 turbo, intercooler, Eibach springs, strut bars, new polished new intake, new fuel rail, header, exhaust, better ignition, reprogram the ECU, etc. (and that's just the motor)
As you know, i'm going to new body kit. Front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, Z3 Fenders, new hood with hood pins of course, and the Terminator 2 Wing. THEN i'm going to paint my car like a midnight blue or something like that. THEN the graphics will come into play....
Hmmmm......now that I look at it, I just planned on redoing the whole freakin' car!!! Did i leave anything else out? Haha!!!

Oh yea, i forgot! I had Jotech in Garland install my Altezzas for $25 and they garuntee them. So if they leak they'll seal them with silicone for free! Cool shiznit huh?
What are louvers?? They sound familiar but i can't remember what they are....
If you live in the dallas area, Jotech is the $HiAT!!!!
Props to Kenny Tran at Jotech!

There is a big debate on which cars are dsms. Let me put it out for you
90-94 turbos = dsm
90-94 n/a = dsm
94 was the last year the laser was made which theroetically is the end of dsm because dsm was a join venture between eagle, mitsubishi, and plymoth.
95 turbos made in 94 = dsm
95 n/a made in 94 = dsm
95 - 99 turbos = Considered dsm's because they share the same power plant.
95 - 99 n/a = many people say these are as far from dsm's as the 3rd gen eclipse.
3rd gen eclipse = not really accepted in the dsm community.
If I missed anything or am wrong, someone correct me.

Here is another guy who is going to get "headers" with his turbocharged engine. If I were you I would save some more money, sell the gs and buy a gsx or gst.

Well then......I asked someone what a dsm was and they said that my car was one. So, therefore I made my name that. And who cares what my name is anywayz? I don't go around bashing your d@mn name do I? NO! Either way, you all know what I drive. A 99 Eclipse GS 2.0L
95 - 99 n/a = many people say these are as far from dsm's as the 3rd gen eclipse.
Confusious say: "MANY people..." which means NOT ALL. So consider my car what you will, and I'll do the same.
And my car is all paid off and i like my car. I thought about selling it and getting a gsx, but just decided to keep what i have. I used to have a 95 Ninja ZX7R, but wrecked it before i got my car. I want another bike, and if i want another one i can't sell this one.

I wasn't making fun of your name. I was replying to SlowNGiggly which is technically right about how your car is not a dsm.

Ok, i see now. Sorry man. As seeing that everybody pretty much agrees with Confusious, I guess somebody told me wrong huh? So lets take a poll....since I don't technically have a dsm,
Change my name?
Or not change my name?

leave your name how it is.
The engines in the early 90's is the same design as the late 90's.Allmost all have the same engine.

I'd like to take the oppoortunity to apologize for my previous malfeasance. I was messin with you the whole time. Don't put louvers on your car and please try to avoid putting a biplane wing on your car it just looks stupid and even if it was functional it would only begin to help at around 90mph. As previously suggested by another post you should probably try to save and by a GST or GSX. However if you enjoy what you have then don't bend to the whims of another. I would suggest to you that unless the truck next to you is a Typhoon or a F150 Lightning , you are not in a race. A point to consider along with that is that if you are going to run some one set it up with them if at all possible so he knows it's a run too. And for all who really miss those rides on the short bus with the tint. BEFORE YOU GO MAKIN SOME SNIDE ASS REMARK READ ALL THE DAMNED POSTS SO YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. Again , Josh sorry for f'n with you I just could'nt resist. Welcome to the boards.

I know where that Bone Daddy's is in Richardson, it's right across from Lowe's Theater. I live in Garland, me and some of my friends were out there last weekend in a red '94 Del Sol, '91 CRX, and '94 Accord. We should meet up some time and run...
Peace
