I was headed down the highway in my 96 VTEC Lude when I see a white 96-99 Eclipse coming up behind me pretty fast. I'm thinking, "finally, something to race!" We pace each other for awhile and then we hit a stop light.
I look over at the guy but can't really see through his tented windows. I give a little rev and he gives one back. I don't don't hear any turbo and then notice that he the car doesn't have the turbo wing. The opposite light turns yellow and we both rev up at the last minute. Our light goes green and we both take off I hear his exhaust but the sound gets lost when my VTEC kicks in. I launch pretty good, almost no wheel spin and instanly pull 1/2 a car on him I bark the wheels hard into 2nd and pull another car and 1/2 on him as I tach out 2 at 7,600 RPMs I'm already leaving him far behind. I shift into 3rd and just let off the gas and hit the flashers he slows down and stays far behind me.
I was going to throw him a thumbs up for the race but the guy won't even get close to my car again. I'm not sure what the Eclipse had other than an exhaust, and I know it would have been a better kill if was a turbo, but I'll take what I can get!!! It's hard to find people to run in Terre Haute, Indiana DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
