I need some help with choosing a new car,
i dont really want a 4-cyl so i was looking at the new stratus because i like the way it looks and its a v-6, its got some decent power and thats my favorite car so far.
other cars i was looking at are the RSX and the Scion TC but i dont like them as much only because of the smaller engines.
i want something with some decent speed so that i can race my friends escort GT and my other friends neon. i also want good styling and im gonna get probably a 2005.
just looking for some advice as to what car i should get!

I just did some research and ive decided to get either the 2005 Dodge Stratus R/T or the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT.
the eclippse has a bigger engine but they have about the same p:w ratio.
i like the dodge's exerior better but the interior(though very similiar) is better on the eclipse because of things like the gauges with blue leds and the chrome door handles. right now im leaning towards the stratus but im not sure.

The srt-4 has the most potential out of all three of the cars named. it aint no slouch.

It's your call though, I wouldn't blow my money on either of those two cars. At least these little guys have potential, actually they're pretty quick stock

yea, but he also said he doesnt want a 4 cyl.

NightWalker, since you want a 05, and a v8 and you generally have been looking at domestic cars, my suggestion is the new mustang gt. Unless of course you dont want a coupe seeing that you are looking at stratus's and etc. If you want a sedan, i would say...damn the only decent domestic sedan is the srt-4 but its not a v6. Ok in the end, i agree with the others, go with the SRT4.

buy a cheaper car, not an 05, like a 01/02 or sumthin, and spend the difference on the motor, find sum1 that bought same car 05 model, and be happy in the distance you make between the 2 of you when you race off the lights? yay.

ok. why buy a v6 with less power? just to say "oooh... i have a v6, bitch" only to be smacked down by the fourbanger?

actually vietnameeh, my grandfather is buying me the car(he owns a pharmactical company in arizona)
eurorev: I do want a coupe and i was looking at the new mustang as a possibility but im not really a fan of the styling on that car(though i am thinking about it and may change my mind), also, Car and Driver said the GTO is faster and more fun to drive than the Mustang.

Well if this is all true then I would love to have the new GTO I think they'd be a blast to drive. I mean Rhys Millen drives one and he's a dhoriftahhhh!

I'm gonna stay stick with the Stratus or the Eclipse. It's obvious you've never driven a car with power before, and we dont need another inexperienced 16 year old with grandpas money and a 400hp GTO wrecking and driving insurance rates up EVEN MORE for those of us under 25. God, only 4 more years...

Edit: 1, because of the price to obtain a car with one is very low. And they can go stupid fast.

too bad the GTO looks like a bloated grand prix.

eh....my two cents, would be start with something mild. i've had the opportunity to beat on both the new stang GT's and the new GTO. they have a lot of power that can quickly catch you off guard. personally i'd say stick with something in the 200hp range. for a first car that's a good amount of power. it's enough to let you have fun with, but it's not enough that you're gonna kill yourself with it.

Find out the feature car of 3fast 3furious.

Buy it.

Get a Big Body Kit and enough neon to make epileptics jump on the floor and attempt to swallow their tounges.

When the movie comes out, hang out at the theaters and score as much underage ass as you can.

Wreck said car in a fiery car explosion driving way too fast (I'm thinking > 150MPH, but make sure the car explodes) to get props from all your friends, come back for reccommendations to build something really fast with the insurance money your family will have scammed (your grandpa owns a pharmaceutical company, right?)

Hachi Roku's don't do 150. The new one is about some kid from either the bay or LA that is sent to japan to live with his grand father in slums to avoid trouble with the US police. Eventaully he gets into drifiting and battles the Drift King, (not the real one), who appearantly has ties to the Japanese Gang Yakuza. No paul, vin or luda. It's directed by the guy who did better luck tomorrow.

That's to elaborate to be a joke, this scares me. Vin Diesel better be in it though!
"Not only did Vin Diesel star in the movie Riddick he also created the letter R."
"Vin Diesel has to be very careful how he blinks. If he does it wrong, he'll unleash a 14-die Fireball."

yeah, thts what i was thinking, the highest model WRX has 300 hp
the highest model Legacy has 250
i personally think the legacy looks better and it gets better gas mileage. I highly doubt im gonna be bringin this thing to the track so the practiblity puts it ahead of the wrx in my book

i looked it up:
Premise: After being allowed to get away by his new undercover cop friend in the first movie, fast-driving criminal Dominic Torretto (Diesel) heads down to Mexico where he lives a life as a fugitive, always just 10 seconds ahead of the law. Eventually, however, Torretto makes his way to Tokyo, Japan, which is the world's current capitol of street racing, where he is recruited to help bail out a friend who is in trouble with a powerful group of Japanese gangsters.
Cast Notes: (4/14/04) In the same way that the second movie followed Paul Walker's character after the events of the first movie, this third film will pick up on Vin Diesel's character from the same starting point (and so, likewise, Paul Walker's character won't be in this third movie just like how Vin Diesel's character wasn't in the second).
and the director said if vin diseal doesnt do it, niether will he.

The Fast and the Furious 3" follows the story of Shaun Boswell, who has always been an outsider. A loner at school, his only connection to the indifferent world around him is through illegal street racing -- which has made him particularly unpopular with the local authorities. To avoid jail time, Shaun is sent out of the country to live with his uncle in the military, in a cramped apartment in a low-rent section of Tokyo.
