You are driving in your police cruiser and you go onto the freeway with speed limit of 100km/h. You see 5 cars
A Honda Civic with full bodykit, exhaust that sounds like 200dB, very lower ride height crazy looking tail-lights and very dark tinted windows. You hear NO turbo, NO BOV (blow off valve) It is going 20km/h over speed limit
A (FC3S) Mazda Rx-7 2nd Gen. Stock ride height. Distinctive sound from exhaust and engine bay, but not very loud. A small sport Side Shirt. It is going 20km/h over speed limit
A Red Ferrari F355, Stock. Very loud STOCK exhaust notes.
Doing 30km/h over
Five 16 year old kids in a very old Buick, those box type ones. Playing loud music from their FACTORY cassette player, and doing 50km/h over speed limit.
Camero which happens to be your superior's car, (the chief). Doing 70km/h over speed limit.
Who will you pull over?

But if I were an Officer, I would have pulled over the buick first, because they will most likely be the cause of trouble on the road..
And if I do pull over the Camaro, I will not write up a full ticket. He probably has a reason to go that fast anyways.
I would for sure leave the Rx-7 and the Ferrari alone.
and too add to the list, if you see a blue 91 gt tommorrow, and your an oklahoma highway patrolman, just let the stang pass.

Realistically, I think that Civic is gonna get pulled over
with the quickness.
I agree that the Ferrari and the RX7 are prolly gonna be
left alone.
That brings up another question, how is it that Ferrari and
Viper stock exhausts can pass the 95 decibel law? I've
driven behind a Viper GTS on the highway and man is that
thing loud as hell, the exhaust was thundering through
my dashboard! And Ferrari's, even driving at low speeds
in downtown PA sound very loud.

I think I'd get the Ferrari just becuz he's probably a snot. If I did get the civic it would be just to check out his car. I seriously doubt any of these would have exhaust louder than my apex'i N1 (DC's w/ no cat) Check out the Orlando show icon on the homepage thats my civic. B18c and I just put TE37's on last week w/ Toyo T1's and an autopower roll bar today. So lets try not to be so prejudiced against the po's huh. But seriously I say the civic gets it ( I got pulled over Sunday night after another officer tried to run me on the way home in his Mazda 929.After I pulled about 6 cars on him while talking on the phone, I got lit up from behind.) I asked the guy why he did'nt get the closer dragger and he said he wanted to get the rice rocket. You all get the point? Just be careful and know that we are watched for what we push.

If I saw any of the above listed cars on the highway at different times and Radared them.....I would pull every one of them over I dont car what the car looks like...I am an officer of the law and speeding will not be tolerated it is a criminal act and will be delt with with the up most authority.. In my 15 years as a police officer I have seen more deaths VIA Auto Accidents then Homicides,Suicides ect... Most the time the driver was eceeding the speed limit or was a Suspect of DUI... So you think about that next time you feel like you want to open up your car on the road..No matter what you drive you are at risk of takeing not only someone elses life but even your own.........
LOL...you don't count...you live in florida. cops in CA are a little different. In that...they are (for the most part) dicks about our hobby of working on our cars etc etc. But it's coo to see you post up here and tell us what you would do. I'm gonna move to florida.

First I wanna say I'm happy another Fla LEO has popped up here so welcome aboard. But I must insist that you be sincere in your posting on this site and not a hypocrite. You say you've been a LEO for 15 years and you say that speeding is not tolerated. So are you saying that you stroke yourself a cite everytime you bust 5 over? I doubt it. I understand your zeal over the job but keep it real. Also not to be facetious but you have some serious spelling problems. I mean I am by far no savant but you need to use spell check more frequently. Perhaps you should focus more on the technical aspect of answering legal questions and drop the opinion based questions.

Today I went up and down highway 280/101/85 a couple times today (long story) and most of the time I was cruising 80-90, because thats what everyone was doing.. I slowed down when the group slowed, and I always kept a safe stopping distance..
anyway, nothing happened, but I was wondering if in these situations, have any of you guys gotten a ticket?
I plan on mounting a camcorder in my car for recording at all times, so that if I were to get a ticket of this nature I could provide it as evidence, will that work? (yes, I'm speeding, but everyone else is, if I were to go slower I'd be holding up traffic) etc..
any thoughts?

Think of it like this . If there were 5 banks being robbed at the same time and all the robbers got away but one , does that robber get to go free and keep the money ? Nope. My philosophy has always been " Well , I got you now we'll get him later. "

That's how my mom got her first ticket. This was back in the 70s, but for some reason nearly all the cars that got pulled over were sports cars. She was in traffic doing only about 7 over the limit.

thank you for your honesty.. just please answer the same question with these following cars:
-Stock Geo Metro doing 5 miles over speed limit
-Lowered Integra w/exhaust driving 10 miles over speed limit
-Ford Crown Victoria (fellow police car) driving 15 miles over speed limit..
i say this because i see cops (not exactly all, but MANY) driving MUCH faster than the speed limit. even if i'm speeding over 5 or 10mph, i'll see one pass me rather quickly.. so let's be honest.. would you ever pull over another cop car (that was speeding)....?
A police officer would never pull over a fellow officer over while on duty. . .nor would a police officer ever ticket another officer for speeding. . .it's called "professional courtesy"

Nah, a cop won't give another Cop a ticket. My unlce is a Liuetenant in the NY State Police and we was doing 81 in a 65, showed the officer his badge, and the guy said "sorry Sir..." and walked away. I was thinking about becoming a part time Cop just so I could get out of tickets, but that wouldn't be very chivalrous of me.
