Dear Officer,
That was a nice touching story about the girl that died at the illegal races a few years back - I've heard it before, I know its true.
But put it this way... hundreds cars have raced down those same business-district streets each week for the past few years, and only one death has occured. Your Fremont police force intend to shut down our late night operation... but do you really know what you're asking for? Where do you think all these drag racers will go? there is no legal strip around here..
I admit, i drag race illegally all the time.. but at least i save it for the weekend in an organized fashion. After the popular illegal strips in the san jose / milpitas / fremont / santa clara area are closed down, the majority of us will most likely take it to the next city light.
Now how safe is that?
Who knows. Perhaps the next street light is in front of your home.
