Not to mention is pretty damn ugly.
Is that a Pug 306, Ford Focus, or a Civic? Damn, I don't like honda all that much, but that thing is the worst! Good job honda, keep up the good work, err, design theft

ok...I'll admit that the styling could use a little work. Good engine though.

That is one ugly ass POS!!! WTF is Honda thinking? I don't think a body kit would even come close to making that thing look good ever. Who knows...this could be a way for honda to detur us from buying their cars and modding the hell out of them.
all it needs is paint lower it a lil more and some nice rims a carbon fiber hood and it will be pretty dope... anywho... it was designed by europeans that is why it looks like focus and GOLF, if only Japanese honda people were to design it..

For that main picture that shows when the page first loads up, look at the rear 3/4 of the car only, and ignore the front; it kind of reminds me of a '94-ish Si hatchback. The front is definitely off a Ford Focus, though.

Styling: Nasty
Color: I'm gonna puke
Shifter: Too OldSk00l Euro-"Rally" style for me
Engine: 2.0 Liter i-VTEC and it *still* only puts out
160HP? Equivalent to the old 1.6 liter?!
*sigh*

Bleh. It's the YEAR TWO THOUSAND (ooooh, we're in the FUTURE!) and now all the car companies have to make futuristic looking artsy cars. Just one problem with that - they're ugly as sin. The only good looking cars I can think of nowadays are some of the german/italian ones, like Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, etc. All the ones that I can't afford unless I win the lottery.
I hope all this "new millennium" shit wears off soon. I'm afraid that I won't be able to buy a new car ever again, because they're too damn ugly.

Styling of the car looks very euro. Atleast honda went out on somewhat of a limb and the car is not as boring as the coupe. All the car needs is to be lowered a bit. In the pic the car has 16 or 17 inch rims, this is probably a dealer option. Shifter position is stupid, very american looking..
the color looks nice, JDM look. Its not like this is the only color going to be offered or even offered at all, so who cares.
Im sure any die hard honda fan is very excited about the engine choice. What was the main thing everyone complained about with the old Si?? NO TORQUE! the 2.0 liter engine will solve this, rumor has it this engine has 160lbs/feet of torque. The redline in the pic is only 6800, but guess that is the drawback of the bigger motor.
I think the best thing about this car is, its a hatchback!! thanks honda for bringing it back. No sunroof in the picture either, this car seems to be a true entuiasts car. light weight.. old Si was way too heavy for that motor.
Im glad honda is still thinking about the import scene when
making the new Si. With the lightweight of this car, good torque band, this car will hit low 15's easily bone stock.
Look at the overall car, not just the somewhat odd styling and you will see this is a better car than the old Si.

Flux, thats a rally style shifter. No american car has ever come with anything like that.

i agree with most ppl i dont like the car very much, overall, not just looks. i thought it would not only have bigger torque but hp as well. at least they got one part sort of right. that thing just looks too much like a focus though.

someones gotta teach me how to be a Photoshop God......*sigh*
Anyways....i think it looks like Focus meets Golf meets Echo meets Insight meets POS futuristic crap.....if i wanted a car that looked futuristic, i'd get a DeLorean and rig up some kind of mock flux capasitor and stuff.....that right there is just gross.......In the famous words of Billy Madison.....GOOOOOO!!!!
Peace:D

ya.. the styling is kinda iffy.. maybe we will get used to it? I dunno... oh well.
Ya the engine is cool though. with a 2.0 liter there should be more torque. Buy why 160hp? C'mon Honda, if you're gonna redesign a new motor, why match the hp with the old one with only an increase in torque? Might as well put some more hp's while they're at it... sheesh.
well whatever, I think I can smoke that car, lol.

To tell the truth, the profile is kinda growing on me already.....At least the one your boy did....the wheels really compliment the lines of the car, and i like them and hence i have wheels very similar to that:)

its geared to compete with the focus...not bad..u guys gotta look at the 2.0 liter displacement...thats actually good displacement size for such a lil car plus that will earn some needed torque. I can see the tuners making some good power from this new engine. Time will tell.

For some odd reason, it looks like a really small minivan without the sliding doors...

my head hurts.... 2.0 i-vtec engine... still pumping out 160hp as the current B16?? what the HELL is goin on.......
very good job w/ the photoshop pix thou~!
I think that it is cool that it is in HB form.
I love the profile (but hate the headlights)
160hp is good amount of stock hp for this car. The torque is going to be a lot more than the current b16A.
"high-output DOHC 2.0 liter 160-horsepower i-VTEC engine under the hood" - the 2 liter B series block (CRV) is one of the best blocks you can run. There is so much potential for real racers. When I say real racers I'm talk'n about more than bolt ons. You could also change the displacement on that block (bore it out) to almost a 2.2L.
Yes it is a little on the ugly side, but I think most cars are ugly stock.

why u guys complaining?? you know 50% of you are gonna buy one anyways! all it needs are the integra style headlights just like the focus integ style lights.

The new Vtec-i should be intesting, but with Honda totally diminishing the aftermarket world for the new 2001 civic, what the hell are we are import lovers going to be able to do with this new 2001 si, just look at it?
Plus....that is one ugly as color!!!
The new dash mounted shifter should be interesting.\
A new body style....I'll have to get use to it.

Team Mega EK

when the EK first came out in 96, a lot thought they were hideous as well... one year later, I found myself buying an EK. Most likely the new HBs will grow on everyone just like the EK grew on everyone...
well, the Aztec hasn't grown on people yet (thanks god), so it's not sure :)
