well, a couple of weeks ago I had a close call commuting home. I was driving on a road where speed limit was 35mph...and the person in front of me braked...not wanting to slow down, I decided to switch lanes and pass him up. So I downshifted and gave it more gas, as I look over my shoulder to check for any cars in the next lane. Well son of a bitch, there was a car in my blind spot. And I had already accelerated to about 60mph now so I had to jam on the brakes. It was inevitable that I was gonna rear end the car in front of me, so I swerved into the suicide lane. Holy smokes, there is a car int he suicide lane stopped to make a left! Swerve again to miss a head on collision as I come screeching to a halt.

The guy in the suicide lane looks at me and shakes his head. I apologize and take a couple of deep breaths as I drive my way back home very cautiously.

well my friend has a 240 and i have prelude 1988si
anyways we were at a light so we decied to race
i rev.
he does the same.
well we go and im ahead casue i change at 4 rpms
(he has auto) and well some reason i go in a lane where the road goes into a complex (gyms other stuff) and he slowing down but im doing like 70 and im all happy then i know why he slowed
THERE WAS SPEED BUMP not the small ones the big giant ones
so slam on my breaks
and bump it hard(lucky no damage)
but lucker is that a cop came like a few seconds .
Woooh im not racing around the streets taht much anymore

well, not too long ago I was racing this Jetta VR6 on the freeway. He was pulling on me (damn it) and up ahead I saw those little circular blue lights you see on them cop bikes. I saw this and i sloowwwwwed the f*** down!! Good thing I didnt pass up the cop and I guess the VR6 didnt see it, and the cop pulled him over, damn...

another time I was racing this red integ on the freeway a while back, it was an open, very open freeway until some dude going hella slow decides to get in my lane, and I had to switch lanes quickly so I wouldn't hit his car...

Well in my case

My friend jus got his car parts installed and so itchy to race anyone. So while I was jus posten at the stop light and it just so happend he pulled up next to me. He kept reving, not knowing there was a cop posten a block down with a rader detector.I was yelling that theres a cop there, but i guess he didn't hear me cause all the reving. So when the light turned green, he made a peeled out i didn't do anything, jus watched him speed down the street. The red and blue lit up his lights and gave him a speeding ticket and a fix it ticket...he got them both cleared..so he learned his lesson.

I orignally posted this story on the B&Y, but here is my close call story.

I was headed down to my GF's house from San Jose (she lives in Gilroy) I just pass under the Tennent Rd. Overpass on 101s. I am in the middle lane doing my typical 80mph. I come up on a Civic and I decide to pass them on the right. Just as a am starting to pull ahead, I look to the oher side of the highway, and there is a black car (I can't remember what it was) comming north bound on 101. It drifts left hits the dirt, and the driver over corrects, she snaps it right, then left, then right, the last right begins a spin, and she comes sliding sideways across the center devide. She skids across the left lane, and makes contact with the Civic I was passing on the right, just as I was making it past the Honda. the two cars went into eachother with about 70mph each. One second I was passing a Civic, the next second I had nobody next to me. I pulled over, and checked on both drivers. The driver of the black car, was all banged up, she had a broken left arm with the bone exposed. The driver of the Civic wasn't as lucky. Her face had slammed into the steering wheel, right before the air bag deployed, wich inturn smacked her head back, snapping off her head rest, and breaking her neck. I was glad to see that she didn't suffer. I waited on scene for the CHP to arrive, assureing the driver of the other car (who was pinned in) that she would be okay and she would be out in no time. CHP, EMT, and fire all showed up about the same time. I gave my report to the CHP, and went home. I don't think I have ever hugged my GF that long, and hard in my life. If I would have passed that Civic on the left, I would have been the one in the body bag. I was pretty shook up when I got home, couldn't eat etc. I just know that karma shone on my for that moment in time, and allowed me to live to tell the story.

mines kinda long...I posted this one up about a month ago and it's still the closest call to me.

Anyways I doubt there were many of you guys out on ringwood at like 4ish, there weren't very many people out there and I was getting ready to leave and I said "one more race." So I lined up with a maro on my right side and saturn on my left. We take off and in was close until I shifted into second. I look in my rear-view mirror and what do I see. Red lights coming towrds us FAST...and sirens. So I'm like ahhhhh ****...I asked my friend whether I should keep going or not..."he's all smash on it." so I shift into third gear and pray. As I do this the cop is close on our tails and the saturn on the right side swearves over and almost nails me. BY this time we are going an easy 80+ mph with a cop on our tails. So now the cop is right on my ass and sees the saturn almost nail me and the cop swearves over left behind the saturn...right after that me and the maro slam on the brakes the cop goes flying past me with his sirens on...and I flip the fastes Biatch ever. Then me and the maro just take off as fast as we could. RIght now as I'm typing this I'm hella shaking...talk about some crazy shit. Sorry for such a long thread. Oh yeah one more thing...that saturn that got ****ed was his moms and he was supposed to be sleeping at his friends house in livermore. You think he's in a little trouble? I think so.

one time i was going to race my friend around this little warehouse area that we skate at all the time. We were about to go when i said "do you even know what the area is that im talking about?" he's like "no" so i said "well here, i will drive around it slow and you follow me, then we can get in a run." So I pull out, going the speed limit. Take the first corner, and lo and behold, there is a cop coming right there. This happened a LONG LONG time ago. I was hauling ass down I-30 coming from FT. Worth heading towards Dallas, when this slow mover is in the fast lane. He was the only person on the ****ing road, and he was going hella slow, and he moved in front of me on purpose. Well, he was like 10 car lengths up when he moved, so I was like, ok, no problem, so I moved to the middle lane. As soon as I got into that lane, he moved over AGAIN!!! Now, I am going over 110, so closure is a real bitch here!!! I move to the right lane immediately so I don't run him over, and guess what he does?!?!? ****ING pulls over into that lane, almost side swiping me!!! I had to jump onto the shoulder to miss him. Then we I get back on the road, which involved missing some of those plastic poles with reflectors on them (it was an exit, and they were there to keep people from cutting over at the last minute to take the exit), he turned his brights on!!! I wanted to run him off the road SOOOO BAD!!!! I just kept going, even faster now, to work off the anger!!!

Two years ago a couple of my freinds were screwing around on the local strip. one in a 84 ranger (nothing special) the other one in a 1967 GTO, that he just got finsihed the day before. at the end of the road was a rail road enbankment, just to let you know. They decided to race. well to wrap up the story the GTO's brakes were not up to snuff and hit the enbankmet face first at about 45MPH. The kid and his passanger walked away, but the car was destroyed. oyah. the cops had to pull the drivers two front teeth out of the steering wheel.
The kid that lost his teeth was cool about it and did tell the cops that he was racing.

Words of Wisdom: Don't try racing your car untill you know everything works correctly...or the cops will be pulling your teeth out of the steering wheel.

There was this dark and scary twisty road in this local town of Poway, my friend and I (both in our turbo mr2s) decide that we want to check it out and find out what is out there. It was pretty much deserted, but its one of those ones that just gives you the chills to drive on and we get to a part where the road turns to dirt, we say f*ck it and decide to go back, he's leading this time and I had totally forgotten about this one turn that just snaps to the left, but I was thinking it would turn right....well, I damn near drifted into a phone pole. I was going about 40 and it suddenly turned left, I scream out some obscenities and yank the wheel left and the rear snaps loose and as I turn my head to the right, I see a phone pole. I freaked like I've never freaked before. I managed to correct (real damn lucky) and stayed on the road. I had to stop and sit there for a few minutes and find my balls cause I had lost them somewhere on the floor of my 2. Ugh.

In my friends MR2 (The one mentioned above, may it RIP) we were leading on a little rally on Palomar Mountain. I dont know much about it except its far from my home and that day sucked but had a good ending. We met up with about 10 other MR2 owners in some gas station and set out for the mountain. My friend and I were leading in the beginning and we got to some lodge where we all stopped to talk and use the bathrooms and whatever. We start up again and we drift through a few more curves until the back end of the car gives out thanks to a random patch of gravel. My friend attempts to correct and he does but the momentum of the car keeps it going and we wind up in some irrigation ditch. The car was totalled, and it had a new 3SGTE engine in it (10k miles, rebuilt)....it sucked. But we got lucky cause a few more feet in either direction, and we could have hit trees or worse, gone down the side of some big ass mountain. Ambulance came, and nothing like being strapped down to a wood stretcher, with your head towards the front of the ambulance, going down a hill. In other words, motion sickness...which I've never had before. I got sick all over the medic and my friend. We got to the hospital and they fixed us up, neither one of us were seriously injured, and my g/f came to pick me up. The good ending, was that I got some loving that night. The End. :)

im driving a 1992 q 45
im going 35- 40 and i lose control
i do a 900 and with traffic still coming i spun just enough time into the ditch to miss a 18 WHEELER!
sat for a min and drove 20 miles

hahh **** i had couple close calls i rememeber one that was sort of funny for me but not for the other guy. we wwere racing on the freeway at night like hardly anycars me and this accord and we were goin pretty fast like 120 and then we come to this part where two freewaysconnect and i sometimes see cops comming down it whenever i drive by so out of insticnt i slowed down and the accord is still goin hella fast and next thing i know the cop is right there chasing that guy and ijus thougth like damnnnnnn good thing i slowed down like 5 seconds ago. like for 5 minutes iseethe cop lights still goin after the accord then finally he pulled him over. and the one thatscared the shit outta me was wen me and the Erecktion boys were coming home from the SRO meet in san jose and we were on the bridge. there were slow ass cars goin and my freind passed some so i wanted to go behind him so i changed lanes and next thing i know this car changes right at the same time but i was goin to fast to slow down cause i wouldahit the car in frnt of me hella hard soi was like **** and i said **** and i gased it as hard as i could and squeezed between the two cars in the middle of both lanes. that was one of the scariest shit that happen to me. anyways my body wa shaking after werds and shit then i got to run my boy and shit at a stop light and thats it. okay bye

I had a close call. About 3 years ago, i was driving my brother and a friend to another friends house in my pathfinder on a highway. I had to make an make an exit at a light so i get on the shoulder and started to speed up(the turn wasn't tight so i went like 60mph) to pass this BMW in front of me. As i was speeding up, the guy in the BMW makes a sudden turn for the off-ramp almost hitting me, but i turned hard to the right and slammed on the brakes... going up the sidewalk and nearly missing a telephone pole by inches. Got shakened up pretty bad and spilled soda all over the car.
Also another one, pathfinder again, raining really bad... i just dropped my friend off at his house. I had to make a left at the stop light. When the left turn light turned green, i stepped on the gas a little more than halfway and started to spin. I didn't realize it until it was too late and did a 360. Good thing there was no one on to my left or else i would've been screwed. I was just sitting in my car perpendicular to the road for a couple of seconds and then just drove off... scared to sh!t out of me...
I was stupid then, i had just got my license just a couple of days before that... but i'm a more better driver now, compared to back then...
