Due to these boards, I have givin neons a lot of respect especially r/t's and acr's. This girl at my job's boyfriend just got a new neon rt about 2 weeks ago. It looks pretty sweet with alloy wheels and dual exaust. Me and her got off at the same time so her boyfriend and I arrived at the light leaving my job at the same time. The light turned green and we took of normal, but played around a little. His car is not really broken in so he didn't want to **** his car up, and my clutch was slipping, but that neon was pretty quick. He was keeping up with me. Anyone know if a new acr is coming?
after playing a little, He turned off at the next light, so i'm sitting at the light and this camero pulls up. It seemed to be from the 80's, but I don't know if it was a v6 or v8. He looked at me and we nodded. I reved to about 3500rpm, light turned green. I sliped out the clutch quick, the car bogged out a little but than the turbo spooled, at the end of 1st I had about a 2 car lead on him, when shifting to second I have to shift slowly or it will grind due to my terrible stock clutch with 99,000 miles on it, so I shifted slowly at 6500rpm, by the time I got on the gas, the camero was right next to me, the turbo spooled up and I was about 2 cars ahead of him. I shifted to 3rd at about 6000rpm and got a bigger lead. I started slowing down due to the 5-0 always hiding in the area, and luckly there was a 5-0, but when I was close to him I was going about 50 in a 45. The whole time behind us there was a mirage with an exaust trying ot keep up. I'm thinking it was a v-6 because it wasn't really even close. I need a new clutch!!!

them stock clutches are hell huh?
guess i got lucky and mine stock one still holds up under all mods, have feeling if i go out tommorrow night its life span is going to get alot shorter
i raced a red redline neon yesterday and it was pretty quick
you're gonna love that car when you start modding it,specially a boost controller, try a mix of redline fluid for the tranny look on dsm.org for the exact mix i forget

I don't want a 2600 because it is harder on the drivetrain, and I don't want to have to work out my legs just so I can get the clutch in. I am only planning on running high 13's, so the 2100 should be good for me. Once I get my clutch, i'm going to probably get some redline or bg synchroshift fluid, than the mods are going to start coming.

High 13s in a 1g AWD? All that requires is a K&N and a Boost controller. You don't need a clutch for high 13s. Stocker will be fine.

The new ACR is already out. It's a bit lighter than the R/T with no tail, better suspension and a spiffy "16V High Output" badge on the trunk. Unfortunately I haven't been paying enough attention to give you furthur details on the car beside the fact that it puts out 150hp and 140lbs of torque.
