Why do that when they can sell you a PS2 for $150, then for a measly $100 more they'll sell you a hard drive?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....Sony is evil.

Actually, it's quite the contrary. Sony is VERY evil.

1. Sony is ready to market the PStwo (the new design) in a huge way. This is the same thing they did with the original PS/PSone. They're gonna market how small it is and how that somehow makes it better. They'll brag because you don't need to buy a network adaptor. They don't tell you one thing though......

2. Shortly after the PStwo is released and pushed to consumers from every conceivable angle, they're going to release the HDD seperately from Final Fantasy XI. So you'll be able to buy the hard drive for about $60-$70 or so. Then Sony is going to try and convince all the developers to make use of the HDD in future games. Sony is hoping by this time, everyone will have replaced their broken PS2 with a sleek new PStwo, but there's a problem......

What they didn't tell you back in step one is that the HDD is not compatible with the PStwo. There's no place to put it. So now, you'll need to buy another original PS2 to make use of your HDD. Then another 6 months down the road or so, Sony will likely release some sort of adaptor to allow you to plug the HDD into your PStwo's USB slot.

Very, very evil.

I know this thread is old, but I bought one. I couldn't help it. It's so precious, but the top-loader thing feels kind of flimsy.
