My friend is getting a 99 civic SI, and i want a 98 mitsubishi eclipse GS-T can you guys tell me which one is faster, and which one is better overall?

dude, this isn't a good question to ask, but, stock to stock, the eclipse should be a bit faster and is much, much easier to make faster. If your only goal is to beat your friend, well, I strongly suggest reading around and using google, there is much to learn out there.

The GST is faster, and has more potential than a civic. Only problem is its FWD. A GSX though would be a better choice.

dude is that all you care about, beating your friends? get the eclipse and then think big, i mean you've got a great power plant to start with.

I think the GSX is an very cool car, even the one made by Mitsubishi.

well i want a GSX but there pretty hard to find and really expensive, i found a GST for only 7,000. I'll look for both and see which one i can find for a good price, I looking to spend not much more than 10,000, But with the GSX doesnt the AWD make it really heavy?

The GSX makes you actually be able to launch without loosing all traction, like you do with the GST.

i know exactly what you mean. my car is sloooooow but she's light and sticks like a mofo. plus i just purchased a turbo kit (crossing fingers) so we'll see. are you looking for a 1st or 2nd gen eclipse or do you care

i want a 2nd gen 98 or a 99 im hoping to find a GSX for sale unless there is something i can do to make the GST have less wheell spin. If anyone can help me find one let me know please.

99 GSX. A 70 Stage I is even better, best if you can get a Stage II.

Good luck finding the Stage I or II (especially since Stage II was an OTC upgrade) GSX. It's a shame there aren't (or were for that matter) more of them on the road... Totally understandable though since the packages tacked on anywhere from 50 - 80% of the cars cost at the time... Still wouldn't mind having one myself though :salute:

SI you can drive it everyday, and if it does break it doesnt break your bank, gst is faster but then you have every guy look at you to see if its a cute girl driving. atleast thats what i do when i see an eclipse.

Well since everyone is in love with Evos.. and a GSX is basically the same thing.. makes it the obvious choice out of the cars above.
