anyone watch the japanese anime initial D? it is about this guy name takumi who is a mad drifter he drives a hachi roku (old school corolla gts doch 150 hp rear wheel drive! damn i wish the new corollas were like that now) and busts like mad drifts in the mountain passes. At first he doesn't really like racing but as the story progress he becomes a bona fide car nut. He races a R32 a FD a FC a EG6, theres also a second season where he races a evo3 evo6 levin... and there a movie and two special ova episodes. The art ain't really that great but the cars are done in CG if you get a chance watch it cause you'll like it cause you can relate to the street racers in the anime

own all of them, first stage, second stage and extra stage.
I wont be able to see the movie now..cause im coming to the US and no JDM land...oh well...maybe in november..but hey there is a live action Wangan Midnight movie out:) Lets see if i can find that

extra stage? is this when the Skyline R34 GTR come out?

extra stage is the movie...if im not mistaken....man i still wish I had my hachiroku...hey i know a guy in LA with a black and white panda that looks like takumi...man that anime is coom..but gets on my nerves:)

Extra stage is about the Sil-Eighty girls, 3rd Stage is the Movie.

Personally I wouldn't want a Co-Driver telling me what to do when I'm racing; giving direction is okay, but not telling me when to pop my clutch.

As for the question, yeah I've seen the 26 eps Initial D... And apparently so have our schools anime club since they like to leave anime club fliers specifically on my car. Hah ha!! I've never seen an English subbed one though, only the Japanese with Canton subs... It would help because some of the things they say seem important...
I've seen Extra Stage too (the one with the girls)... it's only like 4 eps and there's only one race... Shame too, cause the CG car models and physics have gotten a lot better in that one.

cool! so there are initial d fans on this board! as for the ova and movie let me give you the run down
first stage 26 eps is first season of anime
second stage 13 eps is second season of anime
third stage is the movie which just came out recently in japan
extra stage is the ova which is one episode where the impact blue chicks race this loser from emperor in a evo (not the head racer from emperor but just some lackey)
now my question is, isn't there two ovas? one about the sil eighty and one about the hachi roku? anyways i got first stage (on tape) and second stage (on my computer) if anyone wants them just pay me for the cost of shipping and the tapes/cd's i think it's going to come out like 5 bucks for one tape and like 1 dollar for the cd, it's four eps per tape so there's seven tapes i think, and i think i can fit all of second stage on 3 cd's. if you guys wait i'll get first stage on cd cause i'm downloading it right now.
oh, and heres some info about the anime after second stage. I not sure about this but it's what i've heard... takumi joins with the takahashi brothers (the ones that drive the FC and FD) and start Project D (which is basically to beat everyone in the area) they race a mr2, miata, EK9 (i heard this one is powered by spoon sports!) a R34 and some other cars. He also races Bunta's (bunta is takumi's dad) rivals son which is also a mad drifter, but it's obvious who wins right? anyways if you guys hear anything new let me know, and for those that use irc the extra stage ova is out for download in chinese dub with english subtitle i think third stage will be out like in a month
Hey TJ!!! They must love your car at school like I love your car! :) If you want the first 26 and the second 13 in Cantonese w/ English subs then talk to Fishback. He sent me them on VCD ... I guess you have to have a computer quick enough to play it. I would copy them and send them to you, but I don't have a burner/know how/computer illiterate/all of that. That was my first experience with VCDs.
I got em all... ('cept for the movie)

I don't think they're making more, they had plenty of time to get stage 4 out but i guess there isn't a big demnd fo it...

Initial D is a pretty good Anime, I don't know how it depics actual drifting techniques, but it seems real enough to someone who doesn't know... which would be me :D
As for a 4th Stage, I don't know if they'll make one, but rumors have been flying around about its production. Movie? Like actual live actors on screen? That'd be crazy, no info on that. : confused:
There are two special extra episodes, "Extra Stage" and "Battle Stage" They're alright.
man i'd been into it and over it over a year now... How long has it been since the production of the 3rd Stage Movie? Maybe, maybe not, but if they do, I'd watch it.
Has anybody followed the actual Manga (Book) Series? It's a little different than the TV eps.

As for the videos/movies, the latest is 3rd Stage. But the story goes on further than the videos. Its all in the comic books.

Initial D....Yeh I was all into that a few months back. I got stage 1 and stage 2 done with in like 1 week and then downloaded all the soundtracks etc lol. Yeh they're showing the 240s and skylines alot which all look sweet. I still need to watch the move aka stage 3 maybe today........

Storm Do you just have the movies on your Comp. or do you actually have them? I wouldn't mind seeing them. I have buddies in Hong Kong that where telling me about, but I never got around to watching it. My frind hasa few posters and stuff of the movie in his Dorm when Him and I where at school. and from the Previews that he showed me It looked really good.
