Another laptop question...

K so I'm winding down to decision time here, and I'm down to two laptops. The question I have now is between these final two.

Now, is it worth the extra $240 dollars for the 60gb 7200 hd vs. just a 40 gb and an extra 512 gb ram? Will it really make that much of a difference?

Off hand I'd say no, because you can get a seperate 512mb of ram off ebay for about $110. And an extra 20 gigs is no big difference...you can buy an 80gig hd offa ebay for ~$100 and still have spent ~$50 less, with an extra 40gig hard drive.

Also, do you know what type of ram they're using, because I wouldn't go for it if they're using pc2700.

Well, iirc in order to run your 3200+ at that speed you'll need pc3200 memory, because if you were using pc2700 then the processor would be operating at about the speed of a 2500+...
I think...
Maybe the ram is some kind of pc2700/3200 hybrid, kinda like pc100/133?
I'd email him just to make sure the ram is pc3200 so you can use the 400mhz fsb.
