I have a 99 civic EX and I have a short ram intake. I recently removed my resonator and something came to me. What if I ran some dryer tube from where the vent is in front of the bumper where my resonator use to be and aim it at my intake. Has anyone tried this? I was planning to remove that little black vent in front and maybe make a grill so that no giants bugs can jump in. Then I'd place the tube opening there. Does it sound like it would work?

ehats the damn point? "Ghetto ram air?" Look I can see some colder air getting there, maybe like 1/2 a hp. But these ricers who do it dont realize for ram air its needs to be a closed system to the manifold. youre ramming air into the fucking engine compartment. Not the air filter. Basic physics or some shit, i never took that class so I dont know. But im smart engough to know it doesnt do shit.

Gees, you don'tve to get barbaric. I only asked if it would work...you don't have to blow up like that. So what if you don't like ricers, keep it to yourself. What do you expect to get from bad-mouthing people who you think are ricers. You should be able to do what you want without having people all over the place judging you. Anyway, if you said that it'll give you 1/2 hp, then it is doing something, and what's wrong with having air blowing into a cooler engine? Isn't that better then having a hot one.

i just asked my friend whose done it on his integra and he said it helped a little but not a lot, i personally think you should go to home depot or something and buy a mandrel bent pipe and make your own cold air intake

a lot of people are doing this nowadays....it seems like it would work.

it would. But you NEED to relocate the filter. Im sorry for coming off so strong but this mod is STUPID. putting cold air BY the filter wont help much if at all. If you want to do this right, get the piping and run it to your fender and mount the filter to it. Just putting ducting next to filter is pointless people. When I see this, in my mind its just like altezza lights, or the fake BOV. Its a pointless mod.

I've dont it, and now can achieve 3rd gear scratches with it....it does work around mid RPM point i suppose. I put it on my 2nd Gen integ. Took out the resonator...just make sure you get the right tubing.....mine was too big and now my front bumper has a 2" gap...gotta fix it.....it does work and i can voutch for that man..
