Well im gettin a civic dx and my frend (stupid frend) told me that the dx dunt got a Rpm gauge but they got manual for dx so how do i drive without a rpm guage dunt i have to listen to da engine? and couldnt i get a rpm gauge installed? oh and if i can can i put it into the dash or is it external?

Ok, the DX doesn't come with a tach stock. It's really not that a big a deal, you can just listen to the engine. It's usually pretty obvious when you have to shift(especially if you have a loud ass exhaust)

As far as getting a new tach goes that's no prob. Personally I just bought an si guage cluster from a scrapyard, swapped out the odometer and installed it in my car. It's just two plugs and it works fine. That would be an in dash, and would look totally stock.

i got a 92 dx and just installed an aftermarket tach with a shift light, real easy to hook up

it's not that hard to drive without a tach, since it's dx it's not like you'll be revving that high anyways and after driving it for awhile you'll just get this feel of when to shift, and you can get like a autometer tach which is external or swap to a different gauge cluster from a ex, si, sir etc
