Couldnt find the old anime thread, so i restarted this one. Was acually just curious on berserk's ending. Only read the rest if you've watched it!!!!!!

Ok, why didnt Gatts die w/ the rest of them in the end, did Griffith let him go?.. ANd i dont see how he could have escaped either. CONFUSING!! :eek6: Oh but the movie was badass.

Funny you should mention this since I just watched the entire Berserk anime over the past 2 weeks (again) A really, really great story. But it suffers from the exact same thing that X99/Akira does: if you don't know about details in the manga then the anime makes little sense at times.

Anyway *BIG TIME SPOILERS*

Griffith becomes Famito (or whatever his name is), rapes Caska, and Guts cuts off his own arm just to try to stop the whole process. He gets pinned by a demon and the Eclipse starts to take place. Remember that mark one everyone? Well, it's the mark of the damned; once you get it you are to be sacrificed to the God Hand (4 other head demons like Femito)

The Skull King comes along and fights Void, the head of the God Hand. It becomes a draw and in the midst of the battle he grabs Guts/Caska and flings them on a horse then takes them somewhere else. He then explains to Guts that he has the mark of the damned and that the demons will chase him for the rest of his days until he eventually dies. Caska also has this same mark so same rules apply to her. Guts, being in character, says "fuck fate!" and decides he will go down swinging. The Skull King bids farewell and Guts takes Caska off to the blacksmith-guy who makes his sword. THe guy (Im pretty sure it was him) fixes his sword and fashions the cannon arm for him to use. At this point the story continues where episdoe one is: Guts decides to go kill the count to get his Behilit and go on a quest of vengenance.

The story is still going on but to sum up whats gone down so far:

-When Caska was raped her baby that she had with Guts was changed into a demon; the demon changed into a brand new full grown Griffith. So Griffith is back in his normal form only a bit more sociopathic (he already was a hardcore one to boot)

-Midland's army has fallen to Griffith

-The ONLY other surviror from the Eclipse other than Caska and Guts was.....Ricket or whatever his name is. You know; the 10 year old kid in the army. After the fairy saves him he somehow gets found in another story arc and becomes the blacksmith's (guy who makes Guts sword) right hand man. When the blacksmith dies Ricket starts fixing Guts equipment.

-Caska is practically a child because he r mind relapsed from the horrible event. She still isn't "fixed" and basically has the mentaility of an 8 year old around strangers.

Anything else yo uwant to know can be found online since I looked all that up after the shitty ending in the series (well, shitty as in I-could-tell-there-was-a-lot-more-stuff-to-happen shitty)

And thats a great summarizer for up to volume 17 or so along with all the shit you didn't hear about in the anime that was in the manga (another Apostle named Wilde who was in the mix during the Zodd fight, the Skull King in general, Gambino literally pimping out a young Gatts to other soldiers, the king of Midland's real reason for having Griffith tortured -he was a pervert and wanted to take his daughters virginity; since Griffith did that pissed him off, and so forth)
