The buget racer(1983 BMW 320i bought for $900) went out for the first time this year to race on the highway 100 in wisconsin. It started raining pretty bad and i stopped unessarily at a light. A guy in his 20's in his brand new white jetta pulls up to the line. I think bah i cant get any traction but what the hell. I give him a couple revs and sure enough he responds the light goes green and i drop it from 4k. 4 tires light up in the night and soon enough his car starts to lurch forward in the pouring rain. My tires continue to spin for another two seconds before finally catching. at this point he was two cars ahead but the ground was caught up quick and i beat him to the next light going about 55. A good start but too much spinning for my likeing. So i take the ladyfriend to see enemy at the gates with two more of my friends. and sweet no more rain when we get out. i go to the highway and buy some doughnuts so if we get pulled over we have a reciept. we drive a little bit and see a stock late 80s rx-7 and a tuned CRX after two green lights we finally get to a raceable red. All three cars start reving it. the high whine of the ricey CRX the even higher whine of the rx's rotary and the deep rumble(compared to them) of the bmw's 1.8 liter 4. the light changed and 6 tires lit up. the civic got traction first followed by the rx then me the crx was in the lead with the rx half behind and them my self on the rx's door all three cars shifted to 2nd about the same time and i began to pull just behind the crx's front bumper at about 50mph the rx was about a car behind now. the other two cars braked and i continued on to 65 i guess i didnt win but with 4 people in my car for the buget racer that is a win. Oh well after scaring the shit out a station wagon of old people i went home at 1250 a good first night for the buget racer.
