friday night
First race:
got bored at c/t in & out, went out onto c*expressway and then followed some ppl down to m* highway. drove around for a little while and then found my self next to an LS-1 camero SS, got a little crowed on that street so we didn't really race at first, just drove side by side for a while. Then a break in the road and i speed up a little and he does also..I tell my bro to get the camera ready, to late he gets on it so i down shift to 3rd hammer it. I start to pull then get to top of fourth, and was about a car and a half ahead. We slow down and now my bro has time to get the camera out. I get down to 3rd gear doint about 65mph and then we both get on it, i pull past him all the way to top of fourth where i am ahead by 2 cars. Think the camero only had exhaust but not sure.

Second race:
Same road about an hour later after going the gas station on bernal and monterey and back to c/t, then back to m* again. I see this goldish grey colored trans am...couldn't really tell what it was till i got in front a little. It was a newer style firehawk. Cool i am thinking this should be a good race because they put down more power then the SScamero's and the WS6 trans am's so i have heard!. So he is looking over at me and i am like dude get the camera ready again...hahahah So we both look at each other again and nod. Now he has him and another person in the car, so we had even ppl cause it was just me and my bro. I know i weigh less by like 1000lbs but at least we had the same amount of ppl. Anyway i am in 3rd gear again going about 65mph...gives me the one, two, three with the fingers through the window and we are off....dead even as we get on it but then in every gear i jump about 2 inches ahhaha but by the middle of 5th gear i am almost a car lenth ahead. Next we went from a stop...i burn first gear,start to catch up through 2nd and third till 4th gear when i pull next to him and then by 5th gear i am about a half a car ahead. after that race we talked a little while we drove down monterey and he asked me what i had done to my car to make it so fast. He tells me that he has almost everything you can do, as far as bolt-ons. I also found out later that he was on nitto drag radials. hahah damn that car was fast. he had some custom headlights kinda like the corvette non pop-up style. Looked really clean. The guy was cool too. Anyway that was my friday night. oh yea i hope the guy that wrecked is ok. pulled over and tried to help out but then the cops came and told us to leave unless we were with them or saw what happend..which i didn't so we took off.

It doesn't upset me if you call me a ricer! The car is a rice "RKT". People call me a ricer all the time, then I race them and then things change. Don't take it so personal. It isn't that I don't like camAros cause they are ok cars. I don't think I am fast, I know I am. Anthing in the 12s is fast, doesn't matter what it is. I know I dont have the slip yet but that is my fault not the car. I would never be jealous of a camero, dude. I could buy one if I wanted to! But a sleeper is the only way for me! I know everybody says this but in a little bit I will be even more of a sleeper so look out.

Good runs. Just out of curiosity, where can you get those SR20s from? I heard they're about $4400 for engine and trans, if so how much for mounts too or is it not necessary? 13.22, that's fast. I know a guy with a 240 with a stock RB26DETT that runs 13.3 on street tires.

I have said this before. Everyones opinion of fast/quick is completly different. In my humble opinion, 13's are not fast, neither is a high 12 second pass. :sleepy:

Sr motors can be had for 1800 if you buy one off the internet but you don't get the clip with that price. I got mine for 2500. That guy with the rb26tt has run a 12.3@118 at sac on stock suspension and crapy tires. That car is a total sleeper!

well damn you run 12s, why is it when you ask v8 guys what is fast, they always say 10s? It isn't as easy as every v8 guy says to make it into the 11s. I am sure i could do it if i didn't want to drive this car everyday. I like having people laugh at my car then as i float past them to see the look on their faces. But sounds to me like v8 ppl just really aren't impressed till i pass them. On your 1/4 mile run when you ran that 12.4 at 109 did you let off the gas?

S13.. Are you asking me or 472? My 12.4 was at 112.8 if you are reffering to me. That was stock bottom end and off the bottle @ 335rwhp. Things will be mighty different this year with 510 rwhp.

I did'nt let off. Everybody asks what I run so I tell them that I run 12.4. Its an actual number since my car did run a 12.4 once. I don't know what it runs now so I never throw any numbers out there. My time was off the bottle also but I never make excuses for my times so until I run it again its a 12.4 car.

If we are thinking of the same thing, it was not the guy in the camaro that challenged your friend to the race. It was your group of buddies that challanged the camaro to the race. Plus, it was never attempted to be set up on the street. The camaro you speek of knew what the 300z ran and even told the owner it wasn't worth the run off the bottle as the 300z was much faster. Plus the bottle was there, just empty as the fill shop was out of N20 late in the afternoon when he went to get it filled.. I believe the guy in the camaro was being straight up, not making excuses, his plans of filling the bottle didn't come together for him that day.


By the way, not to talk shit as the 300z owner is a very cool guy and I have a lot of respect for him, but what happen when that same camaro did line up at the track with the bottle in the car 3 months ago?

Rss, Maybe I just don't understand where you are coming from a lot of the time. I did not discredit him for keeping up with a LS1. I did not discredit him for the posibility of 12's. All I said I don't think 12's are "fast" I don't claim to run anything faster than a 12.4 on the motor.. Will the car run better than that, maybe.

Btw, you mention how long I have had the car and that other people have gone faster than me in less time. Some people put the money in to different areas of the car. My biggest mistake was not putting money in to traction. The car went from 13.0 to 12.44 with just drag radials and a torque arm and that was on a weak ass 2.02 60 foot. Sure my car is not the leader of the pack in the LS1 world but that is not my goal.. How long have you owned your car?

Ask Al about the pass if you wish. I wont go in to details. But I was on the bottle and my 12.4 was on the motor.


LT What. First off take a look in to what those cars are. and compare apples to apples. You might find your answer there.

1) Only 7 of them are M6's and the rest are A4's with big stalls. I have an M6.
2) I garuntee those 7 M6's have rear swaps. One thing I am in the middle of right now.
3) I bet they are either on slicks or ET streets. I have never had anything more than a nitto. But will be next time at the track.
4) All but one of those M6' have 4.10 or shorter gears. I had 3.46's in the car on the 12.4. Putting 4.10 in with the rear swap.
5) Those couple of things are helping most of them 60 in the 1.5-1.6 range. My previous best 60 was a 1.96.

You make it sound like my car has been on the dyno a bunch of times. It has been on the dyno twice. Once for a base line before the cam and after the cam.

I am the first one to say that my 12.4 pass was not Fast. And I'll even say that my bottle pass was not what I wanted due to my own errors. I'm fine with that. Your friend made a good pass for bolt on's and N20. Any idea what his MPH was?

Like I said before incase you missed it. My biggest mistake was not putting money in to traction from the begining. With a rear and some slicks, I'm sure the car would have run much better. We'll see when it hits the track in April. Care to line up next to me for some friendly passes when I make some shake down runs?

I keep up on all drag racing enough to know that hot or extreme street in any drag racing equals single digit cars. I was going to compete in PSCA this year but I decided to finish the rest of the car up and just enjoy it some instead of rushing around to events all year.
