I was coming home from work the other day. I was tired as hell, but that didn't mean that I wouldn't turn down a race when the opputunity arose.
I was at a traffic light waiting for it to turn green. There were no cars around me but I could see a few coming up in my rear veiw mirror. The light turned green, so I took off normally, but as soon as I go through the lights a Civic Si (probably a 94 or 94 coupe) went flying past me. I was going about 50km/h when this guy passed me. So I though, what the hell I need the rush, it was a boring night, lets have some fun. I speed up to about 80km/h to get side by side to the Civic Si. I look over and the guy notices me and my 240sx at his side. He gives a little nod and we gun it. I didn't down shift to third since I was at about 80km/h when we took off. It would have been better if I did, but anyway as soon as I slammed the gas I had pulled away on this guy about a cars length. He wasn't gaining or pulling away on me. I was at about 110km/h now and still had this guy by a cars length. Then I see some dense trafic up ahead, so I decide to slow down a bit. As I slow down to get side by side to the Civic to give him a thumbs up for the effort, the guy pulls a fucking fly-by on me. I was like "HELL NO!". So he gets in front of me and I pound the gas to catch up to him. We are now weaving through traffic at a speed of 140km/h and let me notify you that this street is a 60km/h zone. As soon as we duck throught the traffic we are again on an open street. Gunning it to the max I start to pull on this guy. I get right up to his side, and by no time I have a half car lead on the Civic. Before I pull away any more the Civic suddenly slams on the brakes. I look back to see what the fuck happened. Then I look in front of me, and guess what I see. Po-Po coming down the opposite side of the street. I hit the brakes to slow down to about 80km/h to avoid a situation with the cops. As the Crown-Vic passes by we come to a traffic light. The Civic pulles up to me and guestures by flicking his fingers, indicating either that we were kucky to spot the Po-Po or that indeed it was a sick race. We diecide to call it quits since there was quite a bit of traffic ahead, and the plus the Po-Po ruined my appetitie for another race. All in all I felt good that I was able to stay ahead of the Civic Si since my car is still stock. It seemed that the Civic was stock to, since I didn't see or hear anything that grabbed my attention when we were racing, like a exhaust system. I was pissed of a little when the guy pulled the fly-by on me. But I still felt that it was a cool race. Just wait till I drop a SR20DET into my 240sx.

Peace out to all!

this story is lame....first off the 1994 civic Si is a hatchback..and it comes with 130hp Sir has 160... second of all 60 km is like 30 mph zone... why the fuck would u go 70 mph in a 30 mph? the road conditions would have been too small so that is bullshit right there. anywho dont race in zones that are 25-30 the conditions just arent right. anywho icould be wrong but try to keep races out of 30 mph zones..

Okay TFM you think you are so smart. Well for your information I live in Canada. And in Canada we do get Si coupes ranging all the way from the '93 models and up. That shows how smart you are. Plus, maybe it would be a good idea to come down to Canada and see how our roads are before you start wetting your diaper. The conditions on
the road we raced on weren't bad at all and it allowed us to go that fast in the race. Well I guess if you knew how to drive then you could possibly travel a fraction of the speed I go or even keep up with granny as a matter of fact. And as far as all the bullshit you claim in my race story, well the only shit coming out of me is thorugh my ass and into your mouth. Think before you speak rookie!

you Canadiens are UncleFuckers
and i guess you're cool since you compared the speed you go the speed of grannies driving... ur 240sx must be fast if u can keep up with a civic....... it's funny how people say 240sx are tight ass but when they race they always compare themselves to civics...

I don't know about you guys.. But this race sounds like it was spectacular! A rolling race with an early 90's civic and a Nissan 240 SX, dude... Much props to you!

I also live in Canada and our SiR's are ur Si's....and their are lots of roads that are long and straight and are only 50 or 60 km/h zones....however I doubt that this guy could slip through traffic going 60 km/h if it was so dense.

"I didn't down shift to third since I was at about 80km/h"

And yeah he doesn't sound like that good of a driver if he doesn't drop a gear to get in the higher power output of his power band he doesn't seem to know too much...I drive an 86 civic that redlines at 80km/h in 2nd so u should have at least dropped it to 3rd if not 2nd...just my 2bits...nice kill though

i drive a 240sx and an si here in the states is still pretty fast. you can't just pull two cars like that on an si you just can't unless the guy in the si didn't know that you were racin. anyway i know that i can go 90mph in 3 gear and that is it no more...if you were in third and didn't downshift and pulled car lengths he must have been if fifth gear and just pushed the gas..so all i got to say is YOU ARE FULL OF SHIT. hahaha

my two buddies ran all night long... well... 4 or 5 times against each other for fun... and they ran HELLA far... probably even farther than 1/4 mile....

conclusion? 240sx and 99 civic Si's break even...

i think it balances out... numerically...

Si advantages
weight
hp

240 advantages
rwd
torque

its about right... i dunno anything bout canadian versions of the cars... :P
