'96 Cobra vs '99 Saleen S281

I hit Milpitas with the drag radials tonight, so some of you may have seen me. Anywho, after getting booted from Chevron because the owner was there killing his business, I cruised the tracks looking for something to race. At one track, I though there was nothing til 2 stangs rolled up. The Saleen owner looked at mine and asked if I wanted to run, I said sure. My buddies got out and we lined up. I didn't have time to drop my PSI or do a quick burn-out, so I just brought the revs up to 4k. The flagger's arms dropped and we were off. I got some minor wheel spin off the line, but I was out of the hole with a 1/2 car length. I nailed a perfect 1-2 shift and gained slightly. Another perfect shift from 2-3 netted more ground on the Saleen and I ended up beating him little over a car length. I went back, and then his buddy with a '00 GT wanted to race, so we lined up, but this time I didn't have time to bring up my revs as my car was rolling forward. On 2, the GT launched, instead of teh 3 the flagger had said, so teh GT got me out of the hole. I started gaining ground, but then the GT starting coming into my lane. I lifted in 2nd gear. I didn't feel like wrecking my Cobra. I called it a night after that. Good runs, but I want to run that GT again.

N/A with aftermarket rims (not Saleen ones) and Altezza tail-lights

the NA s281s are right on par as far as performance wise with the older cobras (96-98).

I seen it out there Friday night...I ran him one night.Off the line,he got me...cuz my tires are shot (no traction)...but on the freeway,we were DEAD EVEN...everytime we shifted I would pull a lil away.Stock 2.73's are great on the Freeway...haha~!

I beat A blue 2001 S-281 supercharged when my car didnt have this many mods as it has now,, I asked A white SC saleen if he wanted to race but he didnt want to and I also tried to race that black type-r at dixon but he didnt wanna race either??

typically, most saleen 281 do not come supercharged, i might be an option, but if you want a supercharged saleen, go with the s352 or the SR both are pushing low to mid 11's. if you don't believe me check out their website. http://www.saleen.com saleens are bad ass, and the s-7 is sick as hell.

Its an S351...not a 352...and its not an 11 second car...

i did some reseach, the SR runs an 11.8, the s281 has an option to be supercharged, and that runs a 13.4 then the normal s281 runs 14.1. and i couldn't find the performance number on the s351, cause they sold out already. and the s7 is just fast.

Ive seent that guy before...he comes out every now and then...he's on the boards, as V6Saleen(or something close to that). He has some homemade ass badge on the trunk, that has GT and V6 as one emblem, and they are overlapping...I saw the badge from a distance though...

i think the base price on the SR is like 123, something like that, but if you have that kind of money it would be a worthy investment, cause how many have you seen on the streets, perdonally i have seen none. i did see a 2000 Cobra R on my way to school, with a Saleen 351 i trhink, i was probally a 281 though, that would be a fat race.

i read about that some where, they are stuffing 5 liters mustang engines into mitas, tehy have to do a lot of modifying to get it right, but they are fast, the power to weight is insane.
