I've been into drifting for many years, but recently I've grown bored with trying to do some small drifts with no cops around, and I don't have the nerve to do big drifts like I used to for fear or being caught. Does anyone have any ideas of what would be good places to drift where it would be legal? There's go to be some places that it's legal to drive your car however you want.

Lafayette, Louisiana.

But I'm not really looking for specific places, just types of places, or ideas of where I could drift without getting busted.

If you want to make the trek to the Carolinas there are drift events held there. There is also going to be an event near Miami on the 14th. Not really close, but you have to deal with what's available.

um.........NO. Not events, not races, I'm talking about generic places. Like what are low or no risk places you guys like to drift? Or what about on someone's private property? Like if you have a friend that owns a big paved area I'm sure you could drift there legally.

some non-SCCA autocross sanctioning bodies allow you to drift as long as you keep it inside the course.

drifting is legal everywhere.... aslong as there is no cops around ;)

Its a common thing over here aswell, most tracks get pretty pissed off at you if you leave tomany tyre marks everywhere. but in most cases i have to travel upto 100km to get to a track. Is that a common thing in the US aswell?
