Yeah, I don't know. They worked when I put up those links, and I used to visit that site hella times. I guess they took it down or something. I should've just copied it and posted it up. Sorry. Which one did you want to do? I did that homemade "H" emblem. It looks ****in' sick. You can't even tell I made it for $5.

I don't know off the top of my head, but I'm sure if I pop the hood, I can find it. I'll get back to you on that one, but right now, I'm supposed to be writing a paper for my English class, :(.

Okay, here's the low-down:

1) Go to a hobbyshop or a sticker shop that sells glossy vinyl. It's like the kind that people use for the stickers on their car except find one with a glossy finish to it. I went to a hobbyshop and got a big piece, but you don't need too much.

2) Take off your "H" emblem using whatever method you choose. I pried mine off with a square piece of plastic that I cut out of a package for golfballs. It worked well, didn't scratch the paint, and took the thing right off.

3) Remove all the sticky residue from your car and the back of the emblem with Goo Gone. Also, you might want to wash the emblem with soap and water so it looks cleaner.

4) Measure how far apart the prongs are on the emblem. Use a pen and mark it on the vinyl. Take a hole-puncher and punch out two holes.

5) Place your emblem through the holes that you punched out in the vinyl and trace it. Cut it out and make sure everything's okay. Trim it if it's too big or whatever. If the holes are too small, like mine were, use scissors and carefully cut the holes a little bigger at a time until it fits to your liking.

6) Use double-sided tape to stick the vinyl cut-out to the edges of the emblem. Put it all on your car as a trial-fit. If it looks good, peel off vinyl's backing and stick it on your car. Press down on the vinyl to make sure everything's all stuck to the car. If it's done right, none of the vinyl will be sticking out of the emblem, etc. and it'll look like you paid $20 for it. Oh, you also might want to wash your car so there's no dirt or anything when you stick it on. If there's a little dirt, it might show.

I'll post pictures of mine if you want. It looks pretty nice, and I'm hoping no one's going to try and steal it, haha.

It's really easy to do. My directions make it seem harder than it is.

Good luck.

peace

No, it's no problem. It only takes a minute with a digital camera.

Here's the "template"; this picture is the outline of my rear "H" emblem. The vinyl was peeled off, and this piece of paper was the part on the back of it that protected the sticky stuff. You'll also notice that the holes seem jagged; that's because I had to use scissors to cut the holes from the hole-puncher a little bigger so the vinyl piece would fit properly around the holes on the trunk.

This next picture is the actual emblem installed on the trunk of my car. It's actually a blue color that looks like the ones you buy, the same type of blue, except there was a funky glare so it makes it look darker than it really is.

Good luck, man. Let me know if you need anymore help.

That is pretty good since a lot of people steal emblems. At least you wouldn't have spent all that money and you can just make your own.

You can get the vinyl at any shop that makes stickers or any hobbyshop or art store. I got a two big slabs, one in green and the other the blue color, at a hobbyshop in Sac that actually specializes in DIY model kits. I forget the name of it, but it's a cool place. Anyway, they have all sorts of colors ... blue, lime green, red, dark red, light red, pink, purple, yellow, neon yellow, gold, brown, black, light blue, white, you get the point. Just choose your color, and you're good to go! Good luck.
