You stole my thread name and... and..... mine's cooler.

Are you building the same engine again, or building it differently? I remember you saying you wanted to run on pump gas.

Also, is that ford blue you painted it? Because i've been catching slack for wanting to paint my engine blue.... from everyone.

Same engine, better assembly, lol. I been getting some slack about it being that color. Its getting repainted its gonna be blue, but a lighter blue. I was going to go pumpgas but the trade for my parts for pumpgas parts was a big loss $$$ wise for me so I decided against it last minute.

What happened to yours? I hope you didnt have the same crank as me. There seemed to be a problem from the factory with some radiuses. Which I didn't find out till after the fact.

If you want a little darker paint, I have some ford blue (yours is ford corporate blue) por15 engine paint I tried last night. The paint looks great, but I dont like the shade (i want lighter). You can have it for $5 if you want it, I just dont want to see it wasted.

Actually mine is just regular car paint that a guy I used to know mixed up for me at work one day. I told him I wanted it similar to a wd40 can and thats what came out. Thanks for the offer but I think we're going chrysler blue.

Well I was a little careless and a little lazy in my assembly. I had custom pistons ordered for my motor and didn't bother to check for valve clearance, welp you guessed it :eek3: . Broke it in on the dyno fine and then decided to take a few cheap feels with a little more power thats whan all hell broke loose. Water and oil started spitting out of every gasket and seal. Shut it down and pulled the heads. Exhaust valves were just kissing the pistons. Broke the valve guide on number 1 and shot it right out the header, good thing. No damage to cylinders or pistons. I had the head valve guide hole bored and sleeved and it's done, have to pick it up tommorow. Machinist says it will be as good as new, we'll see. Have to re-assemble motor measure p to v and have the pistons cut. I guess I was actually kind of lucky, my machinist couldn't believe how well I took it, seeing my motor die on the dyno.
It still made some decent numbers with the valves hitting and no timing or fuel.
650 horse at about 6800 rpm. Once I get it back together I hope it makes a little more :D

What kind of crank did you buy this time, or were you able to repair yours? I'm hoping mine will be back together within the next month. I plan on buying a Da Vinci carb. Have you heard anything good or bad about those carbs?

You can either put a [.img]http://www.testsite.com/picture.jpg[./img] (those tags around the url to the picture without the period)... or you can just click that picture icon under the font size and it brings up a textbox where you can just type in the url and it puts the tags on it for you.

hp wise.. 1100hp on the bottle / 850tq 8.90s would be nice.. these are all goals though and probably never gonna happen but you should aim high i guess.

700 for crank, 400 to fix it, lol. 550 for rods, 600 for pistons, 3500 for heads and intake, 600 for carb, 100 for rings, 150 for bearings, 500 for girdles and rockers, 1400 for machine work and block, 100 for billet mains, 100 for l-19 rod bolts, 100 for timing chain, 300 for balancer, 400 for distributor/cranktrigger, 50 timing cover, 300 oilpan and pump. Thats about it im guessing.. ballpark anyways ----9850 so round up to 10k. Then add 1000 for headers, 1000 for trans, 700 for converter, 1000 for fuelsystem, 500 for vaccum system, 100 for alternator, etc.. it gets waaaay up there. depending on how indepth you wanna get... yeeesh.. thats depressing :sad2: :sad2:

coolness...post them up when you get them.....as im sure you were planning

well a few things have changed since the last update. i decided to give the site a new look and make it a little easier to update so maybe ill be more inclined to update it.

new news about the car is pretty bad. since the videos of the car driving around the block it has went to the dyno in late feb. it was not a good trip, problem after problem, ending with the flywheel losing some teeth and buying a new starter. after changing the flywheel and starter the car didnt seem right, had a noise, then lost oil pressure, so i was taken apart. it was alot worse then i was hoping to see. when i pulled the pan off, 2 rods were so bad that there was no bearing left in them at all, they could flop back and forth on the crank. those 2 rods were noticably a different color from the heat. the pistons on those 2 rods hit the crank. you can see on some of the other rod bearings, that those werent too far off from going completely away also. it also had a couple spun main bearings. so it looks like the damage is crank, 3 rods, set of pistons, bearings. the sides of the pistons are pretty mauled up from the stuff running through the motor. the block looks okay, as does the cam, heads, and valve train parts.

click on the picture of the motor being pulled to view the damage pictures

^Is that from the old set-up^
