i have a friend who bougt a crx at an auction for his project car and the ugly ass wheels has wheel locks on them so he can't take them off. Anyone know how to take them off without going to a shop and without buying a wheel lock set just for the key?

try hammering on a socket that's the same size as the locks. you'll end up not being able to use the socket anymore though.

Die Grinder....or a good drill with a nice bit,

Either should be able to take the locks off, granted the wheels wouldn't be a pretty sight if you messed up and hit them with a grinder, but you said they were already ugly, A downside to this though would be that you would have to replace that lug stud, chances are if you want to get the locks off you have another set of wheels.

The socket idea would probably work too though, i dont know the way the lock is positioned in the wheel, but a grinder or a drill would get the job done.

i think my friend tried the socket thing already he also tried using a vise but that didn't work i think we might end up using a drill or some kinda of power took to tear that sucker up

well if you cant get a dremel, grab a chisel and a hammer, and bust the stud.

take the 3 nuts off and jack your car really high and then push the car away from the jack. Once it lands on the ground the stud with wheel lock should break. Ive seen people do this and it works

Wow thats crazy, why would anyone want to push your car off standing jacks. Even if it is to remove a wheel lock, couldn't that do some serious crap to your car?
