Hey guys, just got a 91 CRX(base model) for 700 bux, and I need to know what to swap in. I wanna go the cheapie route with the swap, I.E. the easier it is to swap the new motor in the better. I was thinking like a B16A, or a ZC? Which one would I get more peformance out of, Probably gonna go turbo eventually. Any way, what should I do, and what do i need to do it?

ZC is definitely the cheapie way, but it's definitely also an unrefined torqueless 80's engine that I wouldn't trust to last a month with any sort of significant boost rammed down its throat.
If you're looking at turbo eventually but cheap now, your best bet is a B20B or a B18B.

well that sux. Isnt teh ZC a d15 with a DOHC head? In order to swap a B18B in dont I need a new tranny and motor mounts?

just go buy a 1st gen b16a for like 1100 and swap that in.

think what you wanna do with the car autocross maybe b18 b/c some usefull torque at low rpm, b16's are nice but you really have to rev them to make power. I recomend not to go the cheap route jus remember you get what you pay for. I have a 89 hf and whould have to say that b16 is nice i couldn't imagine less power ie: zc
