I have used the Electromitve TEC-2 kit on my friend's Neon and that thing is a pain in the arse. Even with 3 of us AND Vic Sias working on it, we could never get that fucker to run correctly. There were too many variables to worry about plus the software made next to no sense. Even the new software (Win-TEC) is a pain in the ass. It does alot of the calulations for you, but it is still a shot in the dark when it comes to tuning. I actually had the Tec-2 kit for my Neon for a few months, complete with 4 individual 46mm throttle bodies, but after arguing with Electromotive for a few weeks over aquiring software and listenign to my engine builder laugh hysterically when he saw how poorly the kit was built, I turned around and sold the bitch. (Loook for it on the world's fastest All Motor Neon owned and driven by Scott Mohler.)
Moral of the story: Avoid Tec-2.
I have heard nothign but great things about the Haltech standalone, so that may be something worth looking into. Motec is a great system as well, but extremely expensive. The rule of thumb with stand alones tohugh is the more expensive they are, the easier they are to use. (Gee, what a surprise.)
I would start callign around to places like Sound Performance and the SupraStore and see what they suggest. More than likely they'll go with the Haltech.
Good luck!
