I have a '97 Saturn SL SOHC. I was wondering if i could possible drop in a Saturn DOHC engine. If anyone knows if this is possible please let me know.

I would check the casting numbers on both a DOHC saturn, and a SOHC saturn. they might use the same block. If not, do what we "make-the-shit-up-as-you-go" fabricators love. Head to your local pick-you-part junk yard, pull a head from a dohc, and try to bolt it to the sohc, or vise-versa.

hey yes it is very possible. saturn uses the same chassis for each of their models, sc, sl, and sw. and as far as engines go all the motor mounts are in the same spots on the blocks and the frames. all you need is the new engine the trannies are the same. i'm not sure but i think you'll have to change ecu's. i know if you a re changing from auto to manual you have to change them so i would think the sama applies for swapping engines. if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Thanks a bunch,
Thats what i was wondering, so in theory it would be possible to just drop a twincam in, swap ecu's and thats it right?
Now all i hve to do is find one.....
Thanks,
