pull it out of the trash....delete all trash and then put it back in the trash.....I guess the question is.......why do you want to store something in the trash?
:op: :bored: :stinky: :joshers:
...becuase this is not my computer. I dont want to touch anyone else's stuff.

You can't delete individual items in the Trash. You can do it via the terminal and issue an 'rm' command.
Easiest way is to put the original file back to original folder. Open the folder window where it is located. Bust open the terminal window. Type 'rm -R ' in the terminal then take the file you want deleted and drag it from the folder to the terminal window. It will plug in the filepath and filename for you. Hit <enter> and it should be gone.
If you're not logged into the admin account you'll have to do 'sudo rm -R' instead. One lil thing though, you'll need to know the admin password.

if you dont want to mess with other people's stuff, create a new user and then you can delete your own trash all day long without screwing up another persons trash

-Why are you making something so simple sound so difficult?
take whatever you want to save from the trash and place it on the desktop.....Then delete the trashed items and then put the item that was in the trash back into it.
--Also, if the owner of the computer put something in the trash I don't think he's going to care if you erase it.....It was in the trash.....Nobody stores useful items IN THE TRASH.......Thats like you putting your wallet in the dumpster and then getting mad at the garbage truck driver for taking your wallet to the landfill..... :gamer:
