I got a ractive universal exhaust so I got it install and there was hardly any sound coming from it.So should I get my resonator remove or would it be to loud and illegal?Any help would be appreciated
IMO i think that loud exhaust is annoying, and it just draws attention to yourself...but, yes, it would make it louder....I know a guy who took out his resonator, and it is annoying as fuck, because it is soooo loud when you are in the car....Just my .02
Peace:D

In my experience having an exhaust without a resonator gives more ****pit noise and unusual high frequency noise that attracts cops. Even though it doesn't exceed sound laws (if you live in CA you know what I mean) there are asshole cops that will give you a fix-it ticket anyway when they hear that high frequency noise they call "unusual noise." The resonator gives it a more low-frequency tone which (IMO) gives that "muscle" type sound instead of that "screaming lawnmower" sound.

when i used to own an accord, i had an aftermarket muffler on. i took out the resonator and honestly, it didn't do shit. i even checked under the car to make sure they really took it out. it was gone alright but the sound didn't increase or anything, everything was the same as when i had it on. wonder what the hell was wrong with my car, hehe, :p

when i took out my resignator i didnt have exaust yet, it just sounds like you might have an intake thats all, if you like the sound of an intake, than take it out, its also better because it pulls in more are, instead of going threw all those tubes, i would take it out

do you have an intake, cause if you get one you would have to remove it anyway

Yes I do have an intake even thought its not like the one that goes under behind the front bumper like the AEM intake but I took it out anyway for clearance so the the intake would fit perfect without touchin the hood. Peace

Uhmmmm, I think that they mean the sound expansion chamber (resonator) that the exhaust flows through in the piping, and not the plastic baffle box that resides under the honda bumper
And yes not having the resonator makes it loud as hell I know, cause as of today I dont have one, the jackass that did my exhaust install didnt put one in.
