Good Anime.

Hey guys, I need a little advice from the anime fans out there.

Ive gotten my girlfriend into anime recently, and she really enjoys most of it. So Im trying to think of some more anime to buy for us to watch, but im not sure what else to get that she will actually like. Heres a small breakdown of what ive got...

She watched but didnt really care for...
Akira, Ghost in the shell, Ninja scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Record of the Lodoss war.

She watched and really liked...
The entire Cowboy Bebop series and movie, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Escaflowne.

Now im having a hard time thinking of something else. She doesnt care much for the usual hack and slash pure fighting anime which lakes a real plot. I like it all myself, but it seems something with a good story is best for us. Any good ideas?

And dont bother saying something gay like "Pokemon, DBZ, Sailormoon!" or I will ban you. (Not really but I wont like you anymore) Thanks for any tips guys!

I will look into that for me, I like medeival fantasy stuff. Although im not sure if my girl will... Im really looking for anime with a good story and message that my gf will like and that I can also enjoy. But it has to kickass too. Ive been looking into Trigun but shit its $200 for the full series on dvd... Anyone burn em for me? :)

my new favorite is called Naruto. its about Ninja-kids in training, its really cool. i have not been able to find it here in the US though, so everything i have watched has been downloaded

u seems to like the action anime type. for u i say Fist of the North Star, curse of the yoma, fatal furry 1, 2, and 3 (the movie), last samurai, ninja scroll resurections all 3 of them.

ur gf seems to like the drama girly type (duh she is a girl) so here are some that she might like
Oh My godness, Magic Knight Ray Earth,...sorry cant think of any more right now i havent watch anime for a while

Vampire Hunter D (both of them), Macross, Record of Lodoss Wars, Ninja Scroll, Fist of the North Star, Ghost in the Shell, and of course the entire Outlaw Star series...

Theres alot of good shit out there you just have to poke around to find it, just like with anything else in this world ;)

easy....find fushigi yugi(i forget the US name of it..i think misterous play) thats a good girls anime. Nadisco is hella funny.my wife even likes it:) dont forget the classics like Ranma 1/2:)

I agree with your g/f when it comes to cowboy bebop. Trigun was very good, although I wasn't a fan of the ending (a lot of people liked it though). Make sure you watch the cowboy bebop movie, "Knockin on Heaven's Door." You're under arrest was cool (gotta love the car animes) as well as Initial D, but some of the drifting nuts will flame it. My new favorite is FLCL (aka Fooly Cooly, aka Furi Kuri). It's only 6 episodes, but that's a good thing because you'll need to watch it through a few times to understand it. It parodies everything in it, from older animes (lupin III, initial d, evangelion) to John Woo movies to the Matrix to even South Park! It's expensive in the US, but if you buy the Hong Kong version, you can get the whole series for $12.

yes both fushi yugi is good, so is your under arrest... other good series are oh my goddess, saber marienets J and J to X, pilot candidate, chobits (definately one to watch with your girl), El Hazarde, pilot candidate.. hehe i can go on and on, my gf and I are both anime addicts.

Hey thanks for all the tips guys! Keep em coming of course, although ive got jack shit in money to buy any... And of course I could D/L them, but what kinda mood would you be in watching anime sitting up in this little office looking at a tiny computer screen... Need to lay down on my bed with a decent sized tv! Kinda sad, after spending $622 to fix some problems with my car (nearly broken timing belt, seals, leaks everywhere) that did not fix everything and caused 2 news problems (another big coolant leak more hgih idle / lumpy idle) im fucking broke. Feel free to burn me some nice anime and send them to me, Ill reimburse anyone for dvdr's! :P

Apart from the underlying homosexual themes, I agree, it's a fantastic series.
