To anyone:

hey, over here in the east coast, i am seeing some odd police cars. I saw an unmarked camaro, transam, even a 4door cavalier. What's with this? I saw one camaro pull over another car. Is this right? What if that camaro is NOT a cop but an impostor. Do we, the public have the right to defend outselves. I heard that one guy got pulled over by some cop in a cavalier. He shot the "un-uniformed" officer for fear of his own life...

what's everyone's 2cents about it?

We can get cars from either seizure or from contracted used car lots to use for police purposes. I also used to get old expired out of state tags to really play the part. As far as traffic stops unmarked it depends on the agency and their policy. I personally would'nt, though I've had unmarked officers pull me over. The policy here is to call for a marked unit and have them pull the car and the unmarked does his work after the marked makes the intro. But the tac, drug and other units drive whatever they want within their budget ( when I left it was 30k ). If you are pulled drive to a populated and well lit area ( witnesses ). Hope this helps

ahh, i hate this whole unmarked thing. i see a car that looks like an unmarked cop car, and then i slow down, and the old lady driving it passes me. and nobody in the car gives me any sympathy, they just *laugh*

My co-worker had some fun with a newbie officer a while back. when this newbie pulled her over for traffic violation, she refused to open the window or open the door. The newbie cop spent 10mins convincing he was a geniune Miami Vice. Since there was an imposter cop news floating around, she wasn't convinced a bit.

At last, she told the newbie that she will drive to a gas station then she would consider open the window. 5 mins laters, 3 additional renforcement patrols arrived......

Anyway, she was just giving that newbie a hardtime... :D

that's funny shit. I got pulled over for what a new cop thought would be a DUI, but i was just sippin a 7up out of a can. i don't hate cops, my sister is an MP (and a racer), but i think they need more training now-a-days, the world isn't the same as it was even a year ago.
