Ok, so someone copied off someone, thats for damn sure. The cars are almost impossable to tell apart at some angles unless you really look. So what's better?
RX7 Pros;
RWD
Handling
Cons;
Lack of torque
expensive to mod
unreliable in most cases
Daytona Pros;
Horsepower
Cheap to modify
easy to maintain
Daytona Cons;
FWD
Uncontrollable under power
also unreliable.
So with the pure intent of starting another 5.0 vs. DSM war, which car is BETTER?!!!!!!!! :salute:

i'll take the FC over a Daytona anyday. and then drive it all over carrol sheby's front lawn doing donuts, cuz the daytona won't. unless you do them in reverse.
Starion/Conquest over Daytona.

i'm sorry but i think daytona's don't look close to fc's, in my opinion they are ugly, i would take a fc anyday, i would also take a starion anyday over a daytona.

Anyone want to respond with some actually reasons other than "its ugly"?
Here are some specs. Here is a 2.5L motor at only 16psi of boost with some other mods (most race turbo dodges run 25+ psi)

results; 11.3 @ 122 mph

Here is one with an adjustable cam sprocket, and custom computer and running at 15psi;

i'm going with the dodge....i like things simple, and cheap...and i also prefer going in a straight line, so the handling doesn't matter a whole lot to me.......

Id rather have a turbo ford than a turbo dodge.

i like rotary's, they are simple, and easy to rebuild. i also like rwd, as well as 50/50 weight distribution which fc's all have.

I'll take a FC over a Daytona any day. Drop in a V8 and different springs. You still have a excellent handling car plus straight line power to boot. Plus power is going to the right wheels.

Or you could get the mopar RWD conversion kit for a Daytona, and keep the turbo4 motor, or put a v8 in. So they're about equal there.

Mopar made a RWD conversion kit....you supply the big parts and $900 and you have a RWD V8 Daytona......
bah..beat me to it!....

On top of that the parts are available to make an AWD daytona, no ones done it yet because most TD guys are very very lazy and cheap.

Six AWD Daytonas have been made, everyone and their dog knows that.

Bet you felt pretty good with that comment. Next time you have something "clever" to say, do so in a thread that isn't more then 2 years old.
Welcome to SRO, please use some common sense.
I could touch a 1 square foot section (with a feature of some sort, not just like the plain sheetmetal part of the hood) of either one of those cars and tell you which was which. The FC has lines consistent with the rest of the RX-7 line, and even the RX-8. I guess it takes an RX-7 guy to notice that, but I see the same lines between it and the SA22C and my FD.

My Turbo Coupe before it was damaged and junk. Years ago.
To the original topic: I'd take the RX7 (I always thought they were cool..)

Thanks for the welcome :hi:
This was a thread linked to from another forum I frequent, wasn't really looking at the dates. I think its a good thread, and brings up some good points of view (which are still relevant today), but if dead threads are that much of a problem around here the admin can add an automatic archiver.
As for making clever remarks, not really, I just mentioned something thats common knowledge, but hadn't come up in the thread.
Anyway, from what I've seen this is an interesting place to be checking out ... I'll mostly just lurk from now on though ;)

My bad buddy, it is a good thread, but lately there has been a lot of ancient shit being dug up and I figured you were just another one of them.
A sincere welcome to SRO. Now that that's done with what do you drive?

No worries, must admit, had I noticed the date I wouldn't have done that reply, lol. I guess this forum is hitting some hotspots on google if its happening lots!
I posted about my cars in the 'introduce yourself' forum :)
Talking of old topics, I noticed FWD vs RWD is in the 'Archived good topics' - since it's revelvant here too, I'll just mention that in the FWD area of my website (www.scatpack.co.uk) there's a study of FWD vs RWD done using a unique pair of racecars, that makes for good reading ...
I checked it out; it's an interesting read.

You've got some nice pictures on the site too. I'm not used to seeing some of those license plates on the cars though.

Yeah, you can get US style stamped metal plates, but if you get noticed by a tightass cop it earns a ticket as the characters arn't wide enough for the regs.
