Moloko buying an Import? Maybe!

Well I've looking to sell the Shelby and to buy another car. Going threw a few cars in my head (another late 70's malibu, 67-72 chevy truck), and I just found another car I've wanted on ebay. A VW type-3 fastback. Im really considering bidding on it and driving down and picking the little thing up.

For those that dont know the car, here is a picture of a type 3 fastback;

My friend has a spare 1600cc pancake motor in his basement I could build up, probably a stroker motor. I probably wouldnt even paint it, just spray bomb it with satin black.

Anyone ever owned or raced one before (other than don?)?

Find a 996 mill and drop it in there, what's the curb weight by the way?

My Buddy just finished building one up(well actually its a Ghia...but its the same thing) he bored it .50 over to 1776cc. It really goes(Well 3rd gear in it is really tall and the car is built for the 1/8 mile but he make the thing really go) I say go for it man they are fun little cars!
